Has anyone here noticed similarities between Bob Paisley and Vicente Del Bosque? Two men seen as quiet and unassuming, both reluctantly in the limelight. The players of both men see them more or less as uncles , neither I would imagine make rousing speeches. And yet, both Paisley and Del Bosque have an incredible eye for building great teams, making players better and have great individuals in a team pattern. Look at Liverpool for instance. In 1980 you have Ray Kennedy, Ray Clemence, Jimmy Case, David Johnson, Steve Heighway, Emlyn Hughes. By the 1982 Bob has integrated Bruce Grobellar, Craig Johnston, Rohnny Whelan, Steve Nicol, Ian Rush, Mark Lawrenson, all would go on to become great players. That is an incredible skill to bring in new talent and make the team just as good. Then in 1999 Del Bosque managed to turn Real Madrid from a rabble to European champions as caretaker manager within 6 months. And whilst Paisley built on Shankly's legacy, Del Bosque builds on Aragones achievement in 2008 Euros with Spain by turning them into world champions and retain the Euros in 2012. Both Paisley and Del Bosque produced football teams that is talked about for decades. I wonder if it is possible in the egotistical world of football to produce managers like Paisley and Del Bosque again?
