Dear Director of this documentary: Well done. It's beautiful. I sensed you showed us all angles, fairly and honestly. And you're absolutely right, you left us loving him more than we already did, and that is tremendous feat cuz, wow, we really did love him already. ☺️ THANK YOU.

I hope his son gets his father's likeness and rights back and we should boycott the people that own his likeness don't support them don't buy any of their products.

Their insanely overpriced and badly produced products. Those garbage oils are equivalent in price to some Michael Harding handmade oils which are among the greatest money can buy. Bob Ross brand is nowhere near as good quality.

WELL SAID.

Zakk Ziegler - That's horrible to hear and not at all surprising. I almost bought my daughter some of his paints for Christmas but they were so expensive it was a turnoff and somehow I just knew there was exploitation at play. The massive amount of merchandise from crappy paints to bobblehead Bob to Chia Pet Bob, books and mints etc, etc, etc... reeks of corporate greed. We know from the documentary that from the start of the partnership, Bob resisted selling crappy quality. He fought them putting out low quality paints etc. If a guy can spin in his grave, Bob certainly would be. I hate that.

@@zakkziegler111 I haven’t bought any of the new stuff. Newest bob Ross product I bought was from like 2003 on eBay.

@@kishascape And the thing is that you could buy some brand new today and they'd be absolutely no different from the ones you bought in 2003 used on Ebay, lol.

It's funny, I thought that, too. But would he? Our sweet and kind and humble and loving Bob Ross? I bet that ultimately he'd just want his son - and all of us - happy, regardless. But maybe we can kick the asses of the Kowalskis for him. AND boycott Bob Ross Inc's endless stream of merch.

It’s a shame , but none of this will change the message that Bob left behind .

There's a huge difference between the 'Meme-Teen Ironics', and those of us who actually enjoyed Bob Ross' videos for what they were meant to be.

I watched this Documentary and it was so well done. My heart aches for Steve. There's such a thing as Karma...they may not experience the here and now. When you look at a Bob Ross painting...now you have to wonder...is it REALLY A BOB ROSS PAINTING??? I will no longer give these people monies.

Just watched it myself and I’m in shock! Will never look at a Bob Ross Painting again without questioning. 😔

The Kowalskis harassed him for the rights to his name on his deathbed like vultures circling FFS. Sickening.

For shame. Bob Ross gave me so much in life and everyone else too. How could they do this!

I'm so happy to hear that ultimately the family take away is that Bob is more beloved than ever. I agree 100%. We always knew he was cool, but retrospect gives us new perspective. He was so good and kind, sweet and loving. He was walking asmr and he wanted the whole wide world to feel peace. And for him painting brought peace. He was a beautiful human.

I literally resisted the Bob Ross Chia this past Christmas. But I bought about 4 other things including the Bobblehead Bob and the Happy Little Mints. Goddamn it.

I didn’t think it was authentic so I haven’t been buying new stuff. The last Bob Ross thing I bought was a painting box set from 2003 in 2012 on eBay.

Read the Daily Beast article . It is actually much worse than the Netflix documentary. The business partnership that Bob Ross had with the Kowalskis is pretty much the reason this happened. Bob only had 25% ownership (50% with wife) in a business that centers around him as the intellectual property. The lawsuits by the Kowalskis claim that Bob Ross works are the product of 'work-for-hire' employee. Bob Ross was the talent and Kowalski's were the management , yet the Kowalskis had equal share in ownership. Can you imagine for example if Elvis didn't own his own name or image because of business contract?

It's disgusting how they took advantage of this man. The Kowalskis daughter is the president of Bob Ross Inc. and Steve Ross has nothing nor can he use his father's name or likeness. He lives in poverty while she lives in easy comfort. All on his father's dime.
