So happy to see the Bob-a-thon videos as well as the ones with his class instructors, Keeping the Bob Ross Dream Alive. Bless all who work tirelessly to allow new generations to learn to paint from someone who loved nothing more, than to show you that you can do it even through those happy little accidents that can always be fixed, and remember to always give your trees a friend. I have seen some stick up there ass artists call his work “bland” and “uninspired”, completely missing the point of it. It’s not meant to be some thought provoking masterpiece, it’s a painting he did in 30 minutes, simple enough to follow along, yet complex enough to surprise you when it’s finished. Bob wasn’t exactly trying to make the viewer feel through the painting, he was marking them feel through the process.

@Gabriella with Covers and Stuff I hear ya. Know that you are not alone. There many people that have traveled the road you are on right now. Some never get off it, but most do. Things will improve and it all begins with you. You have the strength to not let others bring you down and take you to their space. You go to where you want to go, even if its only in your mind right now, it wont be long before you can make the decisions that will get you where you really want to be. Hang in there and keep watching Bob too. Also...if you like him search for the guy he learned how to paint from, Bill Alexander, he's fantastic too.

I never appreciate him until I’ve turned a certain age… how I appreciate his peaceful joyous tone of voice… the calmness effects he has on me. There doesn’t seem to be an ounce of mean bone on this man. What a wonderful wonderful human being….. you are forever missed mr. Bob Ross….
@jakepencil69123 жыл бұрын
I realize this is very much a non-sequiter, and I do not intend to cause offense, but the phrasing of the first sentence here is just a little bit off; it implies that OP has not appreciated Bob Ross until a certain age multiple times, and now I just have the image of someone getting reincarnated or whatever, struggling with memories of past lives, and coming to terms with it with the help if these videos.

From Wikipedia... Having held military positions that required him to act tough and mean, "the guy who makes you scrub the latrine, the guy who makes you make your bed, the guy who screams at you for being late to work", Ross decided he would not raise his voice when he left the military.

I love bob Ross he was such a great teacher. I learnt to paint watching him. I have a condition that renders me unable to move some days because of pain in my spine. So one day I was looking threw sky TV trying to find something to watch and kept coming across a programme that just said the joy of pain, I thought how can anyone get enjoyment from pain, ( unless your that way inclined ) anyway eventually I thought I'd watch it just out of curiosity. It opened up a whole new world for me. And I've never looked back. Thank you bob I look to the sky and think your up there still painting clouds. X
