Yes, that was the most brutal part of the movie! It also is the best part, because, even as he said it, you just knew that he realized at the same moment that he absolutely loved her, that is why he had to let her go. Only to later fight to get her and love back.

Ever since I saw this movie in the 80's, it has been my All time favorite! The music throughout the entire movie is incredible! The date scene where they spent the whole day walking, making love, watching a baseball game without ever entering the ballpark, and eating and talking at a diner was how it should be done, wasn't about money or status, just spending time, getting to know each other, falling in love!

Great movie..Rob.Demi..Belushi were awesome..had friends like both..Rob and Jim from movie..im 65..and still tear up before some scenes...I been on both sides...Demi- being told..I don't love you anymore..and Robs side pleading for her to take him back...both scenes are painful to watch..and especially when you splice in Segers-"living inside my heart " love ballad scene..another moving moment in film...And so guys and girls a reminder!..the grass isn't always greener on the other side..So think..before making a move.. I can think back..over last 40 yrs..and think about those great women from my past..and yes..I still have regrets..

A great movie and song! It was so sad when they broke up. I wanted to cry everytime Demi Moore's character cried. I did sometimes. I couldn't believe how Rob Lowe's character found a woman any man would have loved to have and then mess it up. They shouldn't have listened to their friends in the first place. The movie should have received a higher rating than what it did. It was an A+ movie!

I have watched this movie about 40 times I moved to Chicago from Michigan in 1988 two years after this release because I thought at 20 years this is the center of the universe and it was living in Chicago in your twenties was the best times of my life cruising lakeshore dr. In my Monte Carlo with the T-Tops out was bliss and the scene with the ballon by oak park beach with the Hancock tower was classic Chicago...with my love Christina Crystal! Where are you?
