The first evening she heard it, I figured she would forget about it, but the first thing in the morning she jumped in bed and said, "Can we listen to Bob Seger?" In my earliest days in the Navy in San Diego, a couple shipmates and I would take the trolley down to Chula Vista every wednesday. There was a small roller rink a few blocks up from the station. We always requested this song when we were there. EVERYONE would hit the floor when it came on. It got so, as soon as we walked in, the DJ would spot us, wait until we had our skates on, stand on the edge of the rink, look at him, boom, down went the needle. Didn't even have to ask. LOL. Everyone knew us. It was awesome.

Early Jenkins , I lived 15 minutes from Bristow, Va and saw many great concerts there. I went to see Bob Seger on May 25, 2019. It was great, asskicking rock and roll. Bob and his band were excellent. It was one of the best concerts I ever heard. I am so thankful he came and I got to see him. I am 67 now and I still love my music! I hope you were there and had a great time!

Born in 1987 and still listening since my stepdad was born in 1952. He was a baby boomer. He taught me young and to this day, I still carry him in my soul. This music takes me to a place when I felt free and safer. We played outside and even sometimes thrown out when we did not listen and would not be let back in, haha. We usually ended up cleaning up the darn yard and told my folks, " We picked up trash and cleaned the backyard, can we please go back inside?". We always drank from the hose beforehand and we all got wet, I do not think they had a choice most times! We always had records playing and every move we hauled then in green crates. Hundreds of epic records! Computer time was limited, 30 minutes a day. That is all we got, because we had chores and we never dared said we were done since more followed. We found ways to be busy! We played weekly card games and Monopoly. Instant gratification was not a thing then, we waited for calls and were excited to answer the phone.

Just take those old records off the shelf I'll sit and listen to 'em by myself Today's music ain't got the same soul I like that old time rock and roll Don't try to take me to a disco You'll never even get me out on the floor In ten minutes I'll be late for the door I like that old time rock and roll Everybody Old time rock and roll That kinda music just soothes the soul I reminisce about the days of old With that old time rock and roll, Drew Abbott! Won't go to hear 'em play a tango I'd rather hear some blues or funky old soul There's only one sure way to get me to go Start playin' old time rock and roll Call me a relic, call me what you will Say I'm old fashioned, say I'm over the hill Today's music ain't got the same soul I like that old time rock and roll
