Dear Andrei and dear Dominika, thank for this beautiful rendition of "The Little Drummer Boy" and, yes, in Portugal, especial in rural areas we had (have?) this Christmas tradition of singing carols. Indeed we have so many things that should bring us together, never apart- I wish both a blessed New Year. All the best my friends.

Bless the little drummer boy, whose gift was music. ☮💛🎶

I never knew the words to this song even I heard it all through my lifetime. That is, until Mr. Bob Seger sang it. Now, I cry my eyes out every time I hear it - including right now. It's such a beautiful song from the perspective of a little boy with his drum. At the end, when he sings, 'then He smiled at me', is when the tears start flowing. Maybe my ex is right - I'm a big baby!!

That part makes me cry every time, too! The thought of making Jesus smile really gets me right here ❤!

Shows you Bob can sing ANYTHING! He was a very special artist, and many of his songs will still be sung and played in 100 years! Happy New Year!

One of my favorite Christmas songs. Bing Crosby and David Bowie (an unlikely pairing) had a nice duet version.

I grew up loving the classic version sung by a boys choir, but when I heard Bob Seger's version in 1987, it immediately became my favorite. I'm glad you both enjoyed it.

There was animated cartoon type tv show that always played at Christmas time, if you are old enough to remember lol. If not mistaken it was called The Little Drummer Boy...In Bob's video 1989, there are clips from the show in it.

I'm an atheist and I love that song. I was a teacher and always played that version to my students around Christmas time. Nice story and great song.

I don’t know why but this song always brings me to tears. And it just happened again no matter how hard I try to suck it up. It’s like the widow’s mite-little though it was, the drummer boy gave the best he had for King Jesus. And King Jesus knew it and appreciated it. It’s as if even the animals knew it.

The first Very Special Christmas album was the best of the series. It featured songs covered by Springsteen, Madonna, The Pointer Sisters, Bryan Adams, Alison Moet and more, including this song. Profits from the album went to raise funds for the Special Olympics. Stevie Nicks' version of Silent Night is amazing.

If you want to do another Seger song but that's a complete 180 from this one, you should do: 2 + 2 = ? by the Bob Seger System!
