@phoebe.aur0ra3 жыл бұрын
Yea but also 'clocked' isn't drag slag, it's specific to trans people, and modern drag makes people think that cis people can use clocked like that when it's not for the cis, even if they crossdress.

@helenl31934 жыл бұрын
Yes, I'm glad that was mentioned as I still occasionally use it in the UK/cockney sense I grew up with - to notice something/someone. I now know not to use it anymore, as I wouldn't want to accidentally offend anyone. (I wouldn't be talking about 'clocking' a trans person anyway, I'm an ally and have friends who I've witnessed struggle with passing, and I totally understand that pain, but you never know who around you may be trans/nb and might be made uncomfortable anyway)

I actually learned something here (and I'm quite unfamiliar with this culture)...the fact that 'drag' isn't just the act of blurring gender lines in your appearance, but there has to be an element of art/performance to it. In which case, I would ask what is it called if you're just doing the appearance part, without the art? Is that just cross-dressing then? Apologies for the ignorance, but I'm trying to learn :) Also, much 💖💖💖 to Bob!!!
