I worked at the South Hills Moose Lodge in Fort Worth in 68 & 69. We put on a benefit for Bob. He was in the nursing home home and couldn't pay his bills... It was the finest thing i have ever done in my life. A great gentleman.....

Robert Kessinger I heard that he could not pay his bills and I found that was so sad and I wondered why? Because he had to have royaltys.

I have been through Kosse Texas on several occasions and it's sad....but there is no mention of it being the birthplace of Bob Wills. Just unbelievable!

Notice Bob gives a lot of credit to other people in the interview? A sign of a humble and confident man. Texas, California, and Oklahoma wouldn't be the same without Bob Wills. Thank you Mr Wills.

I own Ham's Barber Shop in Turkey, Texas. Bob Wills was a barber there in 1927 and 1928.

Much oblige. My daddy John Lamm was a fiddle player from the Texas panhandle town of Borger. I grew up with Bob's tunes. My dad was a super close friends with Sheb Wooley and they played lots of dances around the panhandle. Faded Love was always my favorite. My dad was born 1907--2004

Grew up listening to Bob as a boy, my grandpa was an Ozark Fiddle player. I started on mandolin as well. I’m 52 and had no idea how much of an influence Bob was to my GrandPa until I really listened to his fiddle playing. I’m a musician today, play all kinds, but it all goes back to Bob Wills!

Loved this interview, my Grandma saw him play in Bakersfield about 1950. Lots of people dancing and fantastic music from Bob and The Playboys. She said it was hard to describe or explain how great it was. You just had to be there. Thanks to her I learned about them, now my kids listen a little here and there.

I remember the first time I heard this kind of music I was about 7, and I grabbed my mother and cried. It did something to me spiritually.

Bob lived his teenage years just outside of Turkey, Texas. I was there in 2005, his museum is there. A tiny town, 100 people?

Most of the mail came from Oklahoma, and that speaks volumes about who had the taste in music didn’t it?

Mother waited weeks to see The King in Kelso - Washington at the Glide Hall. Unfortunately Bob was 'in his cups' a bit & had passed out in the car & never made the Show.

Yes he did drink a little and he was also called to be a minister. A lot of people didn’t know that but Johnny Gimble told me that himself.
