More info on Lara Fabian : Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 4 languages fluently (french, italian, english, spanish) and has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks. She often co-composes the music with the composer. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia). She was raised in both countries so she speaks both french and italian as native languages. She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today. She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. She now lives in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship She became very famous there and then conquered France in 1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music). in 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, reached number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary and the song you just reviewed is from this concert. But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan. She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Asia where she became an absolute superstar thru her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace" used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera topped the charts for months. Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, … With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there. Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA is now rediscovering her. She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep. He covered many of her songs (that she performed originally ; she also wrote some of these) Out of my mind I can list: • Adagio, • Mademoiselle Hyde, • Know, • Love of tired swans, She also wrote the lyrics of his song « Your Love ». She covered « Love is like a dream » before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva) And they performed Ti Amo Cosi together with Aida Garafulina. This is a song that she performed originally with Dmitriy Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy who came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him. Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs: • Floor Jansen (Adagio) • Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime) • Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie) • Morissette Amon (Broken Vow) • Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace) • Cakra Khan (Broken Vow) • Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow) • Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade) • .... Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.

@@The_MusicPH She does what she did to you, to us all. Repeatedly. She is a Sorceress Queen, she puts us under a spell and then plays with our emotions at will. We are mesmerized. Spellbound...unable to get out of Lara's world. And when the song is over - we start it over and play it again. We search for and listen to her body of work, we tell our friends, we share her art. And then? We come and watch reactions to her videos trying to recapture the moment it happened to us. For it was so sweet, so sublime, game-changing. Millions can tell you how they feel cheated, sickened, that they did not discover Lara sooner...I am counted in that group. She IS the Sorcerer Queen, long may she reign.

What a fantastic and soul grabbing reaction from you, Bob. Thank you for reacting to Lara Fabian. Please don’t forget Mi Amor Tango, Llora written for her friend who succumbed to brutal domestic violence, the MV shows Lara reacting her friends plight, and a personal favorite Tu Es Mon Autre (English subtitles are phenomenal yet you can tell lose something in translation). There’s so so so much more to discover about this fantastic artist. Yes, Barbara Streisand is wonderful but cannot compare to Lara Fabian and Dimash Kudaibergen who can write, compose, arrange PLUS perform on outer planetary realms. Lara wrote the lyrics to Adagio and her and Dimash’s performances are different yet each soars into the cosmos.

Enrico Caruso (*1873 in Naples, † 1921 ibid; actually Errico Caruso) was an Italian opera singer. He is considered the most famous tenor of the early 20th century and one of the most important singers in the world of opera. Caruso was famous for his baritone voice and stage presence. In a performance of La Bohème he sang an aria for the suddenly voiceless bass so convincingly that no one in the audience noticed. Caruso established a new, exemplary style of singing in which the focus was not on beautiful performance but on becoming one with the character being portrayed. Caruso is the name everyone knows and to which every opera singer is compared. Those who have seen him describe the onset of his voice with the warm power of an organ. Caruso still holds the record of 863 appearances on the Metropolitan Opera stage. And it was Caruso who initiated the triumph of the record with his work. Caruso's generosity was legendary. For example, during his most successful years at the Metropolitan Opera, he gave almost all employees Christmas presents. His sense of humor was also famous. Again and again he joked with his stage colleagues, for example sewing up a sleeve of a coat that a colleague in La Bohème had to wear during the performance, or filling water in a discarded hat that someone had to wear in the performance. 3 years before his death he married the American millionaire daughter Dorothy Park Benjamin. With her he had a daughter, Gloria, at the age of 45. He died at the age of 48 from protracted pleurisy and blood poisoning. (www)

thank you so much Tirallala, you are so knowledgable on this subject, I feel so uneducated on this and many topics sometimes. Caruso had an extraordinary life and must have been a facinating person to spend time with and listen to, of course. I feel I would have enjoyed his company, I have a few pranks of my own he would have appreciated, haha. thank you again, very much appreciated, warm wishes, bob

The writer of this song, Lucio Dalla (from Bologna, northern Italy), wrote this in 1986 while staying in one of the rooms where Enrico Caruso, former famous tenor (From Neaples, southern Italy), spent the final days of his life. Caruso was 48-years-old when he died, and a few years before Caruso died, he married Dorothy Park Benjamin who was 20 years younger. They had a baby girl they named Gloria. Lucio Dalla wrote this song while imagining how Caruso, who knew he was dying, would have said goodbye to his young wife - the love of his life. curiosity: in sicilian dialect the word caruso means (ragazzo) boy. Greetings from Firenze (Florence) Italy

I think i would have to be not human to not have an emotional response to that song, especailly sang by Lara, I had no idea others had thought about Barbara too in comparison when i made it. She is my idol now too, I have listened to it and some others many times since i made that, she is 'intoxicating' - stole that word from another comment, but sums it up!! thankyou guys for your comments, Bob Je pense que je ne devrais pas être humain pour ne pas avoir de réponse émotionnelle à cette chanson, en particulier chantée par Lara, je n'avais aucune idée que d'autres avaient pensé à Barbara aussi en comparaison quand je l'ai faite.

Hello, I know the song from different artists. But this one by Lara Fabian is by far the most expressive. The others are also excellently sung, but I'm missing something now that I know Lara's version. Wow. And then this voice. I recommend a new artist to you - AURORA. She will pull you into every song and captivate you. AURORA (Aurora Aksnes) was born on June 15, 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is a singer, songwriter and producer. AURORA's songs always have a strong message. Often the messages are not very clear either. They can be interpreted so that many people can relate them to themselves. Her movements while singing are extraordinary. She is often so into the song that she shakes her body or head uncontrollably (--> Murder song, It happened quiet) and need 2-3 seconds to come back. She is capable of transporting feelings because she allows a look into her soul. Her fans call themselves warriors and weirdos. AURORA once said: People tend to believe quite quickly that something is wrong with them if they're not like the people they see in front of them It's so sad that it doesn't take much for us to really doubt ourselves - Through The Eyes Of a Child (Live at Nidarosdomen) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJSqaq2Kr9icqac - she sang in norway's biggest cathedral - phenomenal acoustics - angelic voice - Murder song (5,4,3,2,1) - The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJmThIqKi9yLrtk - is it brave to sing a murder song at a Nobel Peace Prize Concert? - It Happened Quiet (Live at The Current) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4aQf2mCpt-Xf68 - it's about the rape of a woman - some say - these great harmonies - The Seed (Official Video - VEVO) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/lX7GkIKDatSBd5o - it's about the climat change - Exist For Love (Official Video - VEVO) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYqnnKWAls52qNk - best love song ever!!! - Cure For Me (Official Video - VEVO) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWKalZluZrd_b7s - if you want to dance - Queendom (Official Video) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYavloubhtCkmpI - about her queendom?? - Warrior (Live on the Honda Stage) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2THp3Zqqal8adU - it is for her warrios - Heathens (Live Performance) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6Wug2qqdtJjnsk - another incredibly profound lyrics I usually prefer her live performances. But in these cases the VEVO video is more impressive. I hope you enjoy AURORA. Have a nice day and Greetings from Germany

@@The_MusicPH Angelina Jordan is also an excellent choice. You're definitely not doing anything wrong. I see you haven't reacted to her yet. Here are some informations to help you get started: Angelina was born on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway (16 years old today). She started singing at the age of one year and a half and has been arranging her cover songs since she was 6 or 7 years old. She started with jazz!! She won “Norway Got Talent” at the age of 8!! There are more than 150 cover songs of all genres and singers. Now she also has her own songs. There are cover from Queen, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, Lana Del Rey, ELVIS, Michael Jackson, Billie Holyday, Elton John, Etta James, Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra,.... She is called "The Barefoot Princess with 1000 Voices". She is able to adapt her voice to her arrangements of the songs. - Why Angelina always sings barefoot: At the age of 6, Angelina traveled to the Middle East with her grandmother, who is from Iran and is an artist herself. Angelina noticed a girl her age making some money by asking passers-by to stand on her bathroom scale to be weighed. In order not to soil the scales, Angelina took off her shoes. She chatted with the girl who wasn't wearing shoes and learned that she is an orphan. The girl admired Angelina's beautiful shoes. Angelina then gave the girl her shoes. The girl thanked her and said she would pray for Angelina every day. In return, Angelina promised her that she would always sing barefoot at public performances until all the children had shoes. Until today Angelina has kept her promise. In 2014, she sang barefoot outdoors at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert honoring Malala in December. She also sung barefoot at a dinner with ex-President Obama. At the age of 9, Angelina wrote a book about this story, becoming the youngest published author in Norwegian history. She donated proceeds from sales of the book to help children in need. - Bohemian Rhapsody 13 years old - kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3eTe4lobduagtk - Queen cover - I’d rather go blind 12 years old - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnybnoCOhsdmlas - Angelina on a sofa with a microphone See her lower and higher range: - How great thou art 13 years old - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jX2kdqxnga57qMU - well known by Elvis - I have nothing 12 years old - kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4XGp6mFa6dmf9E - Whitney Houston cover Her original songs: - What is Life 12 years old - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKeTo2ptgLNqiKM - Shield 12 years old - kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2mydJV3odeSapo - Oslo 12 years old - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGOrnH6elKijbqs - Million Miles 14 years old - kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXzbp6qrj5yie68 - She wrote it for her grandfather, who died in 2019. - 7th Heaven 15 years old - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH6bda2Dh8ecf8U

I strongly advise you to react to "Losing love". The version of her is very powerful! The text is very beautiful, look for a version with English subtitles.

She’s incredible. Would be awesome if you can react to Australian legend John Farnham singing “help” a Beatles song live with the Melbourne symphony orchestra. It’s phenomenal no one can belt like him

Hi again Bob. I have been thinking of a good Lara performance that I think will impress you. Make sure you tie on your socks to prevent them being blown off. . It's called Tango, from her Nue concert in 2002. Here is it kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6GUhqWBr76nn5I It is in French so it is important to understand the translated lyrics to understand this power play. I shall put them in another comment. Would be interested to see your reaction. Cheers!

I am a fairly new subscriber and I want to say that I really enjoy your appreciation of good music. If I may submit a request it will be for Morissette Amon's " Could You Be Messiah". Use the black and white version from her official channel. As for Lara Fabian, no one but no one purs as much emotion into a song as she!

And there is a funny story about Lara believing she was being pranked and hunging up on Barbra when Barbra called her to get the Broken Vow charts kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6bGYYtpdrtrnNk

TANGO MY LOVE But what on earth am I doing here? I sink to the bottom of you. What time is it? What fire is drowning me? I don't know - is it dark or light? My skin sticks to the redness of your blood Which moves and flows to me. I dance and I fight. I wrap my ankles around you. My legs bend. I envelop your hips. You wreak your revenge on my loins. I beg in vain but you, you laugh, Your thirst satisfied. Am I dancing or fighting? I don't know, I don't know. Tango mi amor Your hurting me Gives me sensations That devour me As my body twists. Tango mi amor Animal or matador One of us is the stronger, As my body turns. But a doubt settles in. I feel as if am fleeing. The violence of the race, My body repelling you, and your gestures Remind me that you don't own What I owe you. I dance and I fight. But how to say to whom, to what, To whom, I belong? When to belong only to you is the challenge? And if I were to tell you You are not the only one? I dance while you fight. I dance while you fight. Tango mi amor You hurt me, give me sensations That devour me, As my body twists. Tango mi amor Animal or matador One of us is the stronger, As my body turns. Tango __ My body doesn't yet belong to you. (But, if my free soul seems to be winning, still My body twists toward him). Tango, tango, tango, tango, tango

I don't understand why a talented artist like her doesn't receive the recognition she deserves, while someone like Taylor Swift sells millions of albums and is idolized by half the world's population. Something must be amiss! #frustrated

You mentioned it and I totally agree with Daniela Keller now you have to listen to this extract from Yentl where she becomes totally Barb-Lara Streisand. In Montreal while her parents who were in the room were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary, Lara who as always had just given 100% in a performance, started these. According to people, no one, including Barbra, has ever performed these two movie clips back to back. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIibnZSifbKqrs0
