Thanks for the review! I think I will have to try this. It’s pricey but it looked great on you! I ask myself should you really spend $ on that? I teach Middle School and should I buy it to wear there?? Lol. I had a 7th grader just today lean over my desk, stare at me and say in wonder…Miss M are you wearing makeup??? I laughed and said of course I am! You don’t want to see me without it! She gave me a look like I was crazy!!! 😂😂. Awe Middle School kids! I love them! Never a dull moment!

This looks so gorgeous on you! I was super tempted, but in addition to A LOT of essential oils, it has about 4% zinc oxide which is a major skin irritant for my skin. Too bad! I'm so glad I checked the ingredients first. I do wish more brands would stop it with the additional non essential ingredients.

That is my favorite foundation now - looks good with or without primer, even oilier primers like Glossier Future Dew. I think it was reformulated and I might have liked the original by just a tad - less “moussey”, more liquid, but it still feels good. I remember when I wouldn’t touch a formula like this with a 10 foot pole - it’s one of the only foundations that doesn’t look like foundation (original MAC face and body) and my daughter said my makeup looked really good, meaning polished, blended, and natural, and it was this, Bobbi Brown cream blush, and a dot of CT Hollywood flawless on my cheekbones. To be honest one pump is more than enough. It even looks good underneath my eyes - the day my daughter said that I was wearing a lighter color underneath my eyes and no concealer - I said I’m not wearing concealer (could still see some darkness) but she said I still looked good - I’m starting to think the way to stand out and be unique is to not try and obliterate dark circles - just take the edge off - gives you a more mysterious look, and I think it lets people know you’re tired - that isn’t always a bad thing. Look up dark circles and eye bags French women - they look unique and more memorable WITH them - have you noticed some people seem to make themselves have some bags by drawing a brown line underneath the lash line on the skin? Makes their eyes look bigger. That’s my speech, thanks!!

I am so glad you comment on fragrance. You have saved me so much money; if it has fragrance I can't wear it, ever. And you're right, it is so hard to find anything without fragrance. I now have surgical scars near my ear and on my neck so I have to be even more vigilant about it.

Hi Shelley I used to use a lot of bobbi brown products and was a fan of the alabaster tinted version of her richer balm moisturiser ( a thick tinted moisturiser in a jar). At that time I didn't have rosacea and sheer coverage with some concealer was my staple look. My dry skin really loved that balm, but I didn't have the rosacea born fragrance intolerance either. Her actual foundations in alabaster were a bit too neutral toned to work on my very cool undertone and it was a hint dark too. My skin now is unlikely to tolerate all that fragrance, plus the chemical spf ingredients are often an issue. It did look really good on you though. Her pot rouge and gel eyeliners were staples for a very long time for me. Where her range shines is in warm undertones and neutral undertones in her complexion products, but even the supposedly cool tones are more neutral (similar to CT in actual fact). Her shimmer bricks were a cult product and I owned 3 of those. It's a long time since I bought any bobbi brown makeup tbh. I like the eye crayons and some of her lip shades are also cult classics - sandwash pink anyone? Her brushes were excellent quality and I still have all those I owned too. It's not cheap makeup, but it was always good quality makeup. Best wishes.
@EmilyEmilyEmily012 жыл бұрын
I am very fair and my rosacea is only getting more pronounced. That keeps me from a lot products, the shades end up too dark or yellow based plus fragrances.
@wendyraye2 жыл бұрын
I never tried the tinted balm because I used to run from that formula. Omg - Sandwash Pink is the ONLY neutral/light pink that doesn’t make me look washed out and sickly. Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk looks like poo on me - overrated.

Re: dark under eye crevices. I learned this trick years ago from Wayne Goss. After you’ve added foundation/ concealer on your under eyes, take a concealer that’s lighter than your concealer and with a tiny brush, paint it only on the darkest part of the crevice line. Tap it until blended, keeping it only on the darkest part. It’s uncanny how well it works! I’m sure you can find the video on his channel. I think it’s something about “eye bags”. I bought a white concealer that I can mix in to whatever concealer or foundation that I use. I’m super fair and had a hard time finding a concealer light enough. E.L.F’s Hydrating Camo Concealer has a pure white shade in their line up now! It’s really helpful for any tone of skin. For $6 bucks you can make this trick work with any shade of any product! P.S. please don’t hate me but, I have to throw this foundation into the mix, with the NARS and the new CT foundations. Out of the three, which one do you like the best? I really want to treat myself to a new one. I’ve been on a “no buy” for over a year;) Thanks Shelly💜
@goow2 жыл бұрын
I will have to try that trick! I love Wayne Goss. I think I would say all 3 are very very close so you can't really go wrong - but I've kind of obsessively been going back and forth between the Bobbi Brown and the Nars in what I'm wearing lately. Nars wins by a hair but really they're all great.

I think wearing a facial mask ruins it all and I’m having the same problem. The foundation looks good but maybe the colour is wrong, excellent review!💋

I think this has been out for many years unless it’s been reformulated and they put a pump on it. I tried the one with the dropper a few years ago which was also fragranced and on my oily skin was awful.

This comment is going to be a dump of thoughts so sorry in advance lol. Is this a revamp of the other one they have or had? There was one I’ve seen reviews for that got as far as 4 years back. I also follow Taylor Wynn and saw she created a set of face brushes…are you going to try those out? They look cool! This foundation serum looks really nice!

They reformulated 2 times as far as I know. The first one with a dropper. Second formula with a pump but white wording. And the one Shelly had, golden wording.

I wish I had the older one to compare ingredients. This one looks like it got additional shades based on half of them marked as "new" on Sephora, and based on reviews of the previous edition it seems like this must've been reformulated. I've worn it half a dozen times now and am in love and the previous one didn't seem to be as well received.

Why won’t this product blend on my skin? I have dry skin and I moisturize it well before I put it on. Also you are very charismatic and you seem like someone anyone would enjoy having afternoon tea with

I would try a few different things to see if any affect it - if you don't wear a primer under one, try one (and if you do, try it without it), and on a different day I'd try a half pump more product or a half pump less product. Also how you apply it can change whether a foundation clings to dry skin or not - I find that using a brush can make some foundations cling worse to dry skin, so if you normally use a brush or fingertips to apply (any kind of rubbing), try a damp sponge (or if you already use a sponge, try a dense brush and a stippling motion - not rubbing/circles/etc). Occasionally I'll run into a foundation that doesn't like the sunscreen I have under it, so if I am wearing a chemical sunscreen and it isn't behaving, I'll try a mineral sunscreen or vice versa. The hard part is to only change one thing at a time so you know which thing is affecting any different outcomes. Of course it could just be that it doesn't agree with something in your body chemistry or skin type, and if you bought it from Sephora or someplace that accepts open returns, definitely return or exchange it!

The foundation on you does look skin-like. Like you went out and got a great facial. Are you still liking the foundation??

Ooooh man that is a tough choice! I don't think you can go wrong either way. I would probably go Nars for that tiny bit more coverage but that's because I like that level of coverage and not because it's anything wrong with the Bobbi Brown. I do reach for the Bobbi Brown a lot too! They're both awesome.
