I'm back at it again with another tea-filled book review involving the late legendary Whitney Houston's life! This time I am comparing Bobby Brown's books to both Kevin Ammons and Robyn Crawford's book. Kevin Ammons was a disgruntled employee of Whitney Houston who wrote the first tell-all book of Whitney Houston's life in 1996. It is assumed by most people on this channel that most of what he wrote wasn't necessarily wrong -- just exaggerated. For those who don't know, Robyn Crawford is Whitney Houston's ex-girlfriend, former employee and childhood friend. Their relationship came to an ultimate blow and downfall during Whitney's insane flight with R&B Singer Bobby Brown. Robyn has been portrayed in various movies and documentaries over the last two decades. With Robyn coming out with her book, it left fans of Whitney Houston with questions and tea. I want to get down to the truth so I decided to pair up all four books to see what we can equally draw out of both. Who is telling the truth about Whitney? Do we really know her?

He was so insecure. He had to have known that Robyn wasn't just an ex-lover to Whitney but was also vital to keep Whitney's career afloat. He rather see Whitney fall apart than have Robyn around. It is sad that he influenced Whitney to give up her only confidant just for him to leave her. I just don't understand why he decided to become part of Whitney's entourage instead of having his own thing.

whitney source. Do you feel like she might have suffered from postpartum depression or some form of mental illness and no body in her circle was attentive or cared enough to understand? Because when you look at her life trajectory, there was a drastic decline after BK was born and Bobby stated that her drug use increased after she had BK. But since she came from a religious family she didn’t seek professional help because she thought Jesus can fix it. I sometimes wish she wasn’t religious.

I am Me I think she should have took a year off after that Bodyguard era/massive tour. She had promoted that project in almost every country and performed every night for over a year. That would cause most people to have mental breakdown it is not normal. Add the antics of her husband along with paparazzi and media stalking her. Absolutely I believe her family should have stepped In and let her know it's ok to relax for at least one year. I believe they would've stalled the project for Whitney. She didn't look as healthy in Waiting to exhale as in the Bodyguard. Her face was gaunt and she was very thin.

I agree!...but we have to remember Bobby was only 20 something during this time and he, like many people did stupid/immature ish during this time. So for that and that reason alone I can cut him some slack. However, Whitney should have stood up for herself and for Robyn. If she truly cared for Robyn or had any backbone she wouldn't have let Bobby talk to her any type of way. It's like she was a lioness in life but w her husband and sorry ass family she was passive AF. ...if she had cared enough to put her foot down and declare that Robyn would remain there, they would have had no choice but to 'accept' her.

whitney source. I just saw the Whitney documentary and by the end of it I was so depressed. I got the feeling that she had mental issues that weren’t addressed. Her family messed her up so bad. I think they wanted her to stay drugged up all the time because they wanted to take advantage. Remember how she was clean during the filming of sparkle because she felt supported by everyone and as soon as she went back to her peeps she relapsed. Cissy didn’t care about her daughter as she would like to appear as well. Early use of drugs must have done a number to her brain and impaired her judgment.

The most important difference between Bobby and Robyn is Robyn's genuine desire to see Whitney succeed. Her dream was to see Whitney achieve her dreams. Now that is dedication and love. I mean it is slightly problematic that her dream revolved around someone else. I wish she sought out career in women's basketball. But sadly, I believe Whitney would have reached her demise earlier with all those wolves around her.

When Whitney blocked the Arista job, when she had just 5k to her name, when she was working on the farm or as a receptionist...That woulda been the best time (financially) to write a book but she never did. Exactly people calling this a money grab really annoy me because Robyn had to watch her name and image being evoked all these years against her own will. At least she got her dream job at ESPN, has a wife and family that loves her and got to own her story at her own time thats power...She is now whole!! Timing is everything because the book is out at a time when Clive Davis is working on the Whitney project, she will nor longer face erasure like in the past and who knows maybe its time Clive also gave her that call... Most arista alumni are proud of Robyn that speaks volume

Ms k. Why do I have the feeling that LA reid was the one who set it up. Remember during that time Clive was gone from Arista and La became the head of Arista. Whitney was spiraling and she was their biggest star at the label and they needed her to make money as the label wasn’t being successful as it was with Clive. LA must have thought that Robin was the factor that could help with Whitney and offered her the job. I am not sure if La wanted Robin to manage other artists. But Nippy didn’t cooperate so he let it go but told Robin that it was Whitney’s fault.

I agree. Honestly, I think the reason Aunt Bae was so adamant about Whitney telling Bobby about her and Robyn was because she knew how he would act. She probably though his insecure self would try harder to push Robyn out, and she was right. The family used Bobby to push out Robyn, because they knew he had Whitney's ear. In the end they got what they wanted. Robyn left which upset Whitney, Bobby was left to abuse Whitney with no one to stop him, Whitney drug use escalated, she succumbed to drug use, and BK followed suit. My question for the Houstons, was it worth it?

You are so right MsK, this Ninja is LYING and I call BS. He contributed to Robyn leaving and he knows it. It was Whitney's job to set boundaries with her best friend and apparently she wanted her around. Maybe she stayed around because BB was knocking Whit around, who in the hell knows she probably like the attention from BOTH of them. Robyn loss 2 family members to AIDS in the first 4/5 years of their marriage. And it been them Whit and Robyn for so long maybe she needed her emotional support too. We can all agree Robyn STAYED TOO DAMN LONG. She was in love with her and LOYAL to a fault and I think Whitney was making some pillow talk promises to her about leaving BB and it never happened.

@@gamergurl8013 Robyn states in her book that she loved her job, plus it was a distraction from her personal loss, she needed to keep busy as she was still grieving. I don't believe she wore out her welcome, Whitney definitely wanted her there. There were so many events that Robyn did not need to be at but was there, no doubt asked by Whitney.

As a man he must've felt some kind of way that his wife was mainly the bread winner and the public constantly reminding you that you are Mr. Houston. That has to be rough for a man.
