This is song writing mastery...I could only think of a handful of artist that would be able to pull off singing about putting a loved one in a nursing home and trying to ease their transition and at the same time trying to convince themselves its the right thing to do so beautifully...RIP to one of the great ones!!! Mr. Bobby Caldwell.

yup - i think this song is more about an advertisment/infomercial for Sunny Hills as opposed to someone doing it to their parent...hence the haunting aspect

28 years old. Writer. Family never put me on him. Came across him one day. I remember sitting in my living room that entire day astonished in disbelief at the auditory spasms I had. That was about 6 years ago. He has been an influence in my life. I am an old soul.

GUY

FyodorZarathustra it gives you the vibe they are dumping an older family to an old folks home. The family member is heartbroken & they are trying to convince them its a good thing although deep down even they know it’s wrong. That’s my interpretation.

I've been looking for this song since I first heard it back in 1982. I never managed to find it, didn't know the exact name or who sang it. But I remembered the lines to the chorus searched for that and finally found it. I was probably 12 or 13 when I first heard it. Funny though, I had no idea what it was about til now.
