So sad to have to say goodbye to one of the best parts of my teen years. Saw him in person October 22, 1965 (my 13th birthday). I was right at the front of the stage when he reached down and touched my hair. After the concert we could purchase these beautiful black and white 8x10's, go downstairs, line up and he would autograph them. I get up to him and he asked me if I knew why he touched my hair... OMG he remembered me! He said he liked girls with beautiful long hair. After a bit more chit chat I thanked him, turned to leave and walked directly into one of those beams that hold up the main floor... Not TOO embarrassing for a young girl who had just had a small conversation with her idol! RIP Bobby, you still live in my heart after all these years... and I still have the picture.

such a beautiful great classic song - the original was done by steve lawrence in 1959 and followed by craig douglas in 1960 - canadian pop sensation BOBBY CURTOLA'S version is the best one ever made in my view - a highly underrated singer - if bobby curtola would have moved to the states to perform he would have been enormously huge for sure ..

@@PIRINCHO28 pretty blue eyes was WRITTEN by teddy randazzo and bobby weinstein - the single by STEVE LAWRENCE was first released in october 1959 - CRAIG LAWRENCE released his cover of the song in 1960 - TEDDY RANDAZZOO made his own version of the song in 1964 - canadian BOBBY CURTOLA made his cover of the song in the mid 1960's - did you notice that i stated who first released the song as a single which was STEVE LAWRENCE not who wrote and composed the song which was teddy randazzo and bobby weinstein - TWO different things .

It is so very sad to hear the news today of Bobby C. passing away. It brings back many memories of my teen years. It was very sad hearing of his wife's tragic accident this past winter and now losing Bobby, very sad. He was living here in Nova Scotia for quite a few years and we certainly were honored to have him here in Nova Scotia. God bless his family and friends and his many fans. We will miss you Bobby and know you are now with the angels and your loved ones from the past.

Same song but definitely rock & roll and years later. It does not fit what "cover version" originially meant in States (where coined) e.g. Randy Woods' Dot Records hurriedly releasing a "whitenized" Pat Boone version of a rhythm & blues song as soon as latter came out so as to race it up charts.
