Bobby Fischer was a record-setting chess master who became the youngest player to win the U.S. Chess Championship at 14, and the first American-born player to win the World Chess Championship.
Bobby Fischer was born on March 9, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois. Fischer first learned the game of chess at age 6 and eventually became the youngest international grand master at the age of 15. In 1972, he became the first American-born world chess champion after defeating Boris Spassky. An eccentric genius, who was believed to have an I.Q. of 181, Fischer became known for his controversial public remarks in his later years. He was granted Icelandic citizenship in 2005, following legal trouble with the United States. He died on January 17, 2008.
Match of the Century
During the early 1960s, Fischer continued to be involved in U.S. and world championship matches, but was also making a name for himself with his erratic, paranoid commentary. After having a 20-game winning streak in the early 1970s, Fischer once again made chess history in 1972 with his defeat of the Soviet Union's Boris Spassky at the Reykjavik, Iceland world championships, thus marking the first time an American chess player had won the title. Fischer's defeat of a Soviet opponent, which became known as the "Match of the Century," took on iconic proportions in the midst of the Cold War and was seen as a symbolic victory of democracy over Communism. Fischer's historic win also made chess a popular game in the United States.

Who gives a dime about the Elo ratings and success of any other player. Or even if they are considered the best ever. When you have Tal's imagination shown up on the board, you don't care who says what. Imagination always overcomes power. Imagination can take you anywhere, power can't. Botvinnik, who had never faced Tal before the title match began, won the return match against Tal in 1961, also held in Moscow, by 13-8 (ten wins to five, with six draws). There's a survey of the Sicilian, which discusses various resulting pawn formations, and the piece strategies that follow. I forget the book, but it regards this game as being "The Perfect Sicilian" (the irony is that it's played with the great Bobby Fischer on the wrong side.). The Najdorf is the most "perfectionist" of Sicilians - positionally, you're trying to have your cake and eat it too, by delaying development in order to set your pawn structure just right. Tal goes for central light-square domination by expanding on the queenside, forcing the knight to move. Tal then plays ..e5, which, along with ..a6 is the signature move of the Najdorf (nb: unless White makes a one-move ...e5 impossible by playing either Bc4 (as he does here) or Bg5 (as in the mainline), if you don't push ..e5 in one, it's a Scheveningen, not a Najdorf). Black then piles up his pieces to attack the central light squares, which White can no longer prevent with the awkward placement of his knights, and at the right moment, plays ..d5, removing White's e-pawn, and then ..g6 ...f5, removing White's f-pawn and giving Black sole domination of the center. ...f5, when it comes, looks an attack on a pinned knight, but as the game shows, the move doesn't win material. It's the center that Tal wants. At this point, every positional goal of the Najdorf has been achieved. It's a technical win.

In Fischer excuse, he was only 16 y.o. and Tal was 22, but won USSR championships with strongest field in the world already twice . So it was grown up in heavy battles warrior against teenage boy and Tal style was intimidating for many other players, including World Champion Botvinnik . Only top player who remained calm under Tal attack was back then experienced Paul Keres who beat Tal 3 times in 1959 Candidates and drawed the 4th game . But Tal scored much better against bottom half of the field than Keres , won Candidates and next year World Champion title too .

I think agadmator for real shows that the Sozin variation with the bishop on the a2-g8 diagonal can be worse that the options of the e2, d3 squares. With the Bishop on e2, the move of e5 would have been stronger. On b3 losing.
