On the off chance you see this, you've been my favorite vocalist for the last 35 years, and it isn't even close. God bless you and your family.

I was on the lighting crew for this video. It was shot as part of a music video class held by the CSU Summer Arts program in 1987 at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. How cool to get to see a project I worked on years ago that I don't have a copy of. I believe it was the first music video Bobby McFarrin did. It was the next year that he went mainstream with "Don't Worry, Be Happy."

Bobby McFerrin is such an enigma and a phenomena. I wish I could sing like this guy. I could listen to him sing for eons.

I first heard his voice in an ad and food fell out of my mouth. Years later he called up members of the audience to sing in a chorus at one of his shows and I shot out of my seat like there was a jet pack in my ass. Fantastic talent,unique in every sense.

How can anybody with ears dislike this music? It's actually made by a person and not a machine. It's beautiful and dangerous because it opens our eyes to actual human potential. Turn off the radio and put in that tape or cd. Nothing compares to actual ingenuity and vocal range.

Opportunity Came to my door When I was down On my luck In the shape Of an old friend With a plan Guaranteed Showed me the papers As he walked me to the car His shoes Finest leather He said You could wear this style Follow my advice He owned a gun The calibre escaped me But I noticed Straight away It made me itch Carried an address With numbers on the back And an L-shaped Bar of iron What's that for I asked my man With eyes opened And the knowledge in my head And he said Opportunity World wide adventure Money in the bank We did the job The work was so well done No one saw us coming Much less leave But what I dropped Carried my credentials And a black and white Shot of you and me What's that for I asked the cop With eyes opened The knowledge in my head And he said Opportunity World wide adventure Let me take your hand Let me take your hand Opportunity Came to my door When I was down On my luck In the shape Of an old friend With a plan Guaranteed With a plan Guaranteed With a plan Guaranteed

@-Jumbus7 жыл бұрын
Yes the video looks funny but like, are you joking? He jumps like two octaves in less than a second. He can basically jump your entire vocal range to sing a baseline for himself as he sings a melody at the same time. Like what? And you say this song is low maintenance?
@Brandon756897 жыл бұрын
buttchicken 18 I didn't say it was low skill or taste. Its low maintenance cause its only his voice. Thats not a bad thing.

Such a millennial. You mismatch music abilities, musical knowledge, McFerrin was born in 1950 and his acapella skills can be very funny and entertaining, but nothing related to a comedian.
