go to a fly tying supply store and get a white tail deer tail. They sell them. The white hairs are where the term "bucktail" comes from. You can take some of the hair and wrap with thread on the treble hook shank and refurbish your lure or add a tail to anew lure.

Tried store bought and home made and they act like parachutes and catch wind and shortens casting distance as well as accuracy

Trashpanda Fishing medium would be my pick because medium light looks like it maxes out at a 1/2 oz lure rating which the lucky craft is just a tad heavier than that.

Instead of feathers you can use mini hoochies as tails. (They make glow in the dark hoochies) That's what I do with my minnows at least.

Makes sense, the big guys are cruising the trough, while the smaller ones charge around and bite whatever. Probably looking at cast timing to put the bait in the deep spots at highest water depth? That's when the biggies run the trough.... hard to time, in the waves.......that might be the difference. WHO KNOWS!

Yea they jump around but seem to like the transition between the deep and shallow where the white water concentrates.

i forgot, but i would NOT recommend that rod. it fell apart. it was a crankbait rod rated for 1/4oz to 1oz i believe.

I know you dont want to loose your lucky craft... but how come you dont use a flouro leader like a five or ten foot leader. No swivel tie up same way just add the leader. I'm curious if you would increase your catch numbers even more .

I go straight braid so I don’t knock my line guides. This rod has small guides for accuracy. I may be missing fish but with accurate casts I can literally place baits exactly where I want. The accuracy increase probably allows me to catch fish I normally wouldn’t either so it’s a wash

That's just what we do when we steelhead fish. I use a Albright's knot. Works well. But it would hit your guides a little. Thanks for the reply. 2 more weeks then I'll be able to fish again. I'm ready to get some red tail perch .

Use a leader and Tie an FG knot with a Rizzuto finish and it will slide right through the guides, you will not even notice it.

Thomas Oldread I do that on my spinning setup. The guides on the casting and my reel are too small still with the micro guides. I even do that ressutto finish!! Haha however you spell it

Sure miss fishing at Surf Beach, MLPA created a no fishing zone there. Fishing was epic there back in the day. Tight lines to you.

Lol the company that sells the bait will increase the cost of the bait again once you reveal it 😂. I remember 2 years ago when barely people knew about it. 1.29 per pack. Now its 3.99 per pack lol. I should of take advantage of it by ordering 400 pack or more 😔😔 if knew it was ganna go up by a lot. Its my favorite bait between...😂.
