Hello Edward and the rest of the Hook2Cook family. I’m very happy you’re still making videos. Thank you. Still running hard truck driving. We are doing what we can to keep food in the store. There’s no one out here on the freeways, so we know people staying home.

@@Hook2Cook they look so fun! I love the central-southern-northern Cali love with Die Hard and Benji Kim. I was curious if you ever bait and wait, with cut bait or live bait from the surf? @mochoch874 жыл бұрын
Can you explain this or link to his setup? Would appreciate it!
@weekendfisherman80724 жыл бұрын
Ringo Sanchez - I can find his link. It’s probably in one of the video. Anyhow you just set up a Carolina rig but on your main line; cut off about 2’ and tie a swivel to it. Then tie one of those clip swivel to your main line. This allows you switch out to throwing LC or using a C-Rig.
@mochoch874 жыл бұрын
@@weekendfisherman8072 thanks! I tried looking for it in his videos but he has so many lol. I was wondering because I like switching between plugging and sand crabs so what I've been doing is similar. I just have a sliding swivel always on and clip on/off a sinker when I need it and change the leader with a hook or one with a power angler clip.

Also, I ordered some lead free 1 oz weights from Dave's Tangle Free, not affiliated with them but they do offer discount codes to charters and guides so you guys might be able to strike a deal and offer a discount code to the family, contact them directly. One more thing, I'm too cheap to order the grubs so I might use some old 3" Yamamoto single tail grubs I have lying around with a size 2 hook. If I ever make it out there I'll let you know if those worked. Thanks for the tips!

why not use a snap on sinker that still slides?
@Hook2Cook3 жыл бұрын
Good question. that could work as well if the snap isn't too big and slide over the clip. another possible outcome would be the hardware tangling up with the clip as well... on the other hand, it could work absolutely beautifully using a snap on a sinker.
@ARCSTREAMS3 жыл бұрын
@@Hook2Cook well it depends what you need it to do , i was thinking a sliding sinker carolina style rig would be better but i do not see why you need this paper clip thing for when you can get the same thing using a snap swivel where you not only attach the main line to the snap but also open the snap to put on a tear drop sinker if you prefer a fixed sinker bottom rig but if you like a sliding sinker then i suggest using one of those tear drop sinkers that have a plastic snap on bit that you can put directly above the swivel and add a plastic bead in between the swivel and sinker to act as a knot protector and stop the sinker from sliding past the swivel if it's doing that or for regular sinkers you can add a split rig on eye of the sinker followed by snap swivel to snap it on your line above the swivel or reverse the snap swivel on the sinker to get rid of the split ring but then it would no longer be a snap on sinker ,you would have to put it on the line while tying the rig ,many variations ,i will make a few vids soon on different rig up techniques and some hacks for fishing, i made my own dual function fixed or sliding bobber that snaps on to my line as well as sinker in order to get easy change of rig for the same rod

If you are going to do it that way, why not pre-rig the leader with the sliding sinker between the hook and the swivel (on the leader) and then just clip the tactical clip to the swivel? Its the same amount of hardware and you still get the sliding sinker which is really the essence of the c rig? You could add a bobber stopper and a bead to limit the minimum length of your leader.
