I only knew much about Tovar because of his MLB the Show card this year, and I just could not get out with his swing, despite no big time power. And his speed and defense are electric. Made me a fan and one of the few bright spots for the Rockies.

Jolly you dawg, what a solid Royals video. Super picky when Royals content gets talked about, but really what media company pays attention to the Royals and actually knows what goes on here in KC, it ain't worth the air time, right now. Solid my guy and some notes of what I appreciated are below.
@robertcrist6059 Жыл бұрын
A) I love the Julio/Bobby connections. Personally, I like Julio a lot even being a Royals fan. I played OF growing up, Gordo was my guy, so Julio also playing the OF just works for me. It’s almost like George Brett and Mike Schmidt. Yeah, they both played the exact same position, but both were compared to each other a lot, so it will be neat to have Julio and Bobby ball out at elite levels their entire careers together. B) You said it well, pay the kid! Owner John Sherman wants the city to shell out $1 billion to help pay for the $2 billion stadium he wants, locking Bobby up to a Julio type deal could help get the people here on board (slightly) with this new stadium. C) 9:54 George Brett "arguably" the Royals best player in franchise history, ugh who else is in consideration haha? Do you count any player who spent part of the career with the club and then for any reason moved on? Yeah, Bret Saberhagen with 8 seasons and wicked stuff was good, or first time around Greinke with 7 was very good, and Beltran like you said, but George spending his entire career in Royals blue definitely edges out anyone and makes him their best ever player; which yeah is sad because they can't keep guys around, but it's rare to have anyone spend their entire career with a single team anymore so I can hear arguments from that side. If Sherman inks Bobby and he plays his entire career in Royals blue, he only has to see what the org did for Brett regarding statues, and keeping him in the light all this time, Bobby will have that and more. C.1) George Brett and his eight grown kids lol! Way before my time, but hey they got it done. D) 2022 Bobby was very scary, as in holy crap I can't believe KC messed up this kid who was supposed to be Mantle or Griffey, whatever noise was being said. 2023 Bobby has been a helluva turn around; but yeah, the whole contract thing. D.1) I don't think anyone as talented as these MLB guys struggle as much as Bobby did just by bouncing to 3B and SS. Again, KC is my team and I suffer through a lot of crap these days. I would say Bobby, in his first year at the MAJOR LEAGUES, he was rushing everything. They were forced errors, hurried throws, getting his timing down etc. Put him at 3B this season and he will be just as good as his play at SS this 2023 season. In 2023 he has the year under his belt and experience so he is able to relax and do what he can naturally. E) Anyone can slice up stats every which way. Earlier in 2023 Bobby was the first player in his "first two seasons" to have a 20 HR/20 SB in back-to-back seasons; Yeah Trout, minus his 2011 40 games did this in two full seasons, but that is the silly caveat. But then Julio was the first to 25 HR/25 SB in his "first two seasons". Well, Bobby could be the first ever player, in any two seasons (from what I could find), to have a 20 HR/20 SB season and then follow it up with a 30 HR/30 SB season the very next year. Juilo didn't have 30 SB in 2022 so he can't reach that mark. Bobby still needs 2 HR at the time of typing this. And that Mike Trout guy, he actually did this in reverse lol 2012 reaching 30 HR/30 SB and then in 2013 20 HR/20 SB. E.1) If Bobby gets his 2 HR to notched 30 for 2023, he will be the first Royals player to have a 30/30 season...yep. George Brett wasn't a runner, and only had 30 HR once, in 1985 when he lead his eight sons to the World Series haha. Carlos Beltran came 1 HR short in 2002. Most guys who do steal, probably aren't HR guys who hit enough of them to land 30 HR; plus in Kauffman you gotta get all of it, and that doesn't help this odd fact. F) The 2014/15 Royals didn't need a dawg to lead the team. Every night it was a, "who's driving the bus tonight?". They all picked each other up and would take their turns "keep[ing] the line moving"! You just don't know how special those teams were for me. Born in 1991 I've never seen the Royals good let alone competent. I'll always hate SF and Bumgardner for ruining 2014 for me. The 2014 Wild Card game was the best game I've ever been to in person. My guy Alex Gordon had some insane late inning home runs that just fire me up every time I think of them. KC's three headed bullpen's changed the game. Their late inning defensive replacements actually literally made their defense a lock down no fly zone, "that's what speed do". Not a part of the video, but I've been saying since 2018 when KC did their all pitchers draft sort of thing, KC will win the World Series in 2025. I did a series of "Jimmylitics" type of thing and landed on 2024 but settled on 2025 because it would be neat to win again ten years apart. Looks bleak haha, but like rebellions, a KC Royals baseball season is built on hope.
@warturtle94 Жыл бұрын
Fucking well said my guy!!! We HAVE to ink this kid to a long term deal it will break my Royal heart if they don’t try with all their powers to keep this guy a Royal forever. I was born in 94 so a couple years younger but my grandma was a season ticket holder and we went lots of games it killed me as a kid to see dye damon and Beltran leave now I’m a season ticket holder and i see a core in Cole Ragens, Bobby, Garcia,vinnie and possibly Mj if he can improve the defense and strikeout numbers. But to lose those guys without making a run would scream 1999-2004 royals.
@robertcrist6059 Жыл бұрын
@@warturtle94 Thank you! Yeah, I mean it will be tough. Sherman want's the team to be like CLE where he came from, and they don't really lock guys up. They did with JRam but Lindor left, Kluber, Keuchel, Bauer, Clevenger, probably Beiber. Yeah, I want all of Vinnie, but I think he is a dude who wants to win more than KC can sustain it, so he will walk. MJ needs to step it up. I've watched many games from behind LF and my goodness he is bad out there, not his position, but hit way better and maybe we can shrug it off. Garcia could be one becuase he isn't so flashy and good. Personally idk what Bobby will think. He can go get the money, but will a legacy mean more, KC needs to win quick to convince him. warturtle because a Pokemon fan? We should go to a game if you want to.

His speed is crazy. 4.12 home to first which is the fastest time amongst righties. 30.4 feet per second sprint speed. 124 bolts on 220 competitive runs, he has 8 less runs than Corbin Carroll but 21 more bolts. If you turn it into a percentage he bolts 56.36% of the time, Elly does it 51.08% of the time. Oh yeah and he would have had the fastest inside the park HR in the statcast era if he didn’t slow up at first. Just unreal.

How do you not way should've been MVP for Trout in 2012 after doing it for ARod? 2 of my absolute favorite players of all time and quite possibly the 2 most talented American players of all time (so we don't have the Shohei stans complaining). The fact that Witt's skill set realistically draws parallels to those 2 is just insane. Obviously, any team would love to have him, but I hope for KC's sake that they find a way to keep him. A lot harder to sign team-friendly steal contracts for players that are American, high draft picks with big bonuses, and especially those that are already wealthy (like Witt and Holliday that are 2nd generation players with parents that made $10s of millions).
@wwpjd28 Жыл бұрын
It is honestly pretty crazy that Witt already looks like a pretty likely lock at 2nd best player in the franchise's history if they can keep him there his whole career.
@wwpjd28 Жыл бұрын
I got to say, it will not be as easy to get Witt to sign an extension as it was for those other guys. His family already is worth $10s of millions. He is far more likely to seek market value than those other guys. It just remains to be seen if Royals will actually pay near market value for a superstar. I hope so, but I'm just not sure.
