As a loader operator here’s a tip. Don’t always trust the grapple to hold heavy material as you work around it. That log could have slipped out for whatever reason while you were in front of it. Also roll the material all the way in the tines and tilt the forks back. This will also shift weight to the rear of machine.

I own a tree business and we already have a full size Bobcat for moving the big stuff, but getting into back yards and working in tight spaces isn't always possible. I've turned down jobs because I just don't want to deal with the added manual labor and time it takes to move wood by wheel barrels and handcarts. I just started looking for a mini loader and there's so many choices. This video was helpful.

Love this video, great job!!! I'm an arborist and the outfit I work for has 2, the MT 100 & 85 We have all attachments: bucket, bucket/grapple, ditch witch attachment, we even got a drill....lol These are perfect for tree work. You have the grapple attached the amount of brush you can pick up is awesome. If the tree is 2 big for 1 and you don't want to cut it for logging purposes,, IF you have 2 both will pick up a massive log together. Thes machines or even a walk/ride behind TORO are absolutely perfect for tree work!!! And if I may add never turn especially on hard surface, drive ways, roads, parking lots with the lift up. Makes it TOP HEAVY and adds a bad shake. Excellent Video man thank you!!!

Can you do a video of how to do when you need 2 attachments to be taken with you on your dump trailer please
@easyeddystrees10 ай бұрын
I may be able to get one out this year for you. Basically we place drive up the ramps forwards(which is a little scary) and place one attachment all the way at the front of the trailer. Then spin the bobcat around 180 inside the trailer to then drive down the ramps safely and get the other attachment. Once that attachment is on the machine we drive up the ramps backwards and park it close to the other attachment so it can't move around while driving.

Very nice machine.. I have an ASV RT-40 which is a sub compact track loader with a 48" width, an enclosed cab, and a little bigger, about 4100 lbs w/ bucket. One thing the MT100 can do which standard cabbed track loaders cannot is exiting the machine with the bucket up. Holding up the tree while slicing off logs is very useful. The RT-40 which requires the bucket on the ground and the Grapple closed for the operator to exit the machine. Safety First!

So the Bobcat S70 is very similar in a wheeled skid steer for size and specs. I have a much older but similar Bobcat 443 machine that I have had to work on a lot because of its age and condition. The advantages to one of these is the tracks and ease of maintenance as well as the noted operational benefits. Easy to jump off and do work, jump back on. The smaller bobcats with a cab can be really hard to lean in and do anything. Also short wheeled skid steers are really tippy on hills. Have to back up if bucket is empty. So I am not tree guy but I am thinking of this category for my replacement. Once you have powered equipment to do work you can never go back!

I own an ASV PT30 which is the same class but with a cab. There is nothing more valuable in a landscape or tree service company than these units. Since purchasing my full size track skid steer sits 60% of the time. Bobcat has good equipment I just like the over premium prices on attachments

I probably would have been fine with a small ride-on skid steer but I couldn't have any of my guys sitting down in a machine or they'd never get off it and help out with the actual work. Then they think they're a hotshot because they get more work done than everybody and don't have to sweat.

Hardly the whole tree, but impressive. Very impressive. Also, u need a machine that cuts and splits the trunks. Your body will play out. Plus this labor is exhausting. Check out some videos where the log is placed on a skid and an electric chain saw wacky off a piece, then a hydraulic cylinder pushes the chunk thru an apple core type die. From what I see on the comments and your video, it sounds like the width of this machine was one of your primary factors.
