You’re the man !! Very nice information. Everyone needs to know. And you’re right about the cats versus rats. But if you don’t set for them you won’t catch them. And a pond dam is always my favorite set. 2 sets on each dam. I’d like a comment on your brand and Modle of your drone. Very nice pictures and wondering when your season is over ? Keep up the good work buddy !!

Hey Tom! My drone is a DJI Mini Pro. It works pretty good for the cost. I wish it had a little further reach. Our bobcat season in Oregon goes from December 1 through February 28. Thanks for the comment!

@@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790 I’ll check it out. I had a short season this year first time in like 25 years. But got to go for like 14 days Yotes wasn’t worth catching for the money this year Just seen an auction here in Kansas and the avg was $6. I saved all mine and tanned them all. But looks like you a good season and jack is growing like a weed. lol.

Love the video. What is your cable drag setup? I want to get into using some drags instead of always staking hard. Do you always use cable or do you use chain also? What kind of length and sizes on the cables? Thanks
@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790
@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790 10 ай бұрын
Hey Brent. Probably 90% of my cats sets are on a drag, because I can’t get a stake in the rocks. I have both cable and chain, but I lean towards cable because it’s way cheaper. It works almost as good as chain. My cables are usually about 10’ long. I prefer using a juniper branch for the drag, but a rock that’s cradled real good works too. I do have about 40 drag hooks. All of them are different types of steel drags. I’m still trying to come up with a good, cheap steel drag. When I do I’ll show it on the channel.
@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790
@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790 10 ай бұрын
I used some 3/32 cable at first, but I’ve switched to 1/8”. It holds better if you end up with a big cat.

@@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790 perfect thank you. A lot of my places I can stake pretty easily but some are hard clay and then when things get frozen solid some drags would be handy. I hope you do come up with a good homemade drag! Thanks again for the help and info

I'm just curious. On the dry cave set you did at the first half of the video why did you set in front of the cave instead of between the 2 rocks before the cave? Very different country than what im use to. I do love those walk through sets. Two giant cats for sure wow. Super great video.
@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790
@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790 10 ай бұрын
That would be a great spot to set between those rocks. The only reason I didn’t, was because of the snow. We can get a foot or more of snow in this area, and I leave my sets all season. It’s just less maintenance, and I don’t have to worry if my set is still working. Great question. Thanks for the comment!

What are you putting under the pan?
@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790
@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790 Ай бұрын
@@devinnpickens5509 I use underalls. It’s basically a soft craft foam you can buy at Walmart. It comes in a large roll, and I cut them into sizes to fit under my pans 1-1/2”x2-1/2”. You can also buy them at trapping supply stores already cut to fit. Rumors fly around that they freeze if they get wet, but I’ve used them for years and never had a single issue. It’s definitely a personal preference thing. Pan covers catch as many animals as underalls most of the time. Good luck!
