@reddexred I agree with you, but it takes a ton of money to develop a big engine to meet the low Co2 emissions we have in Europe. It's much cheaper to redesign an existing engine so that's why we keep getting basically the same engine for years

Test drove the 2.0 hdi Allure yesterday. I found the engine to be quite loud in comparison to renault laguna 2.0 dci. I'd definitely go for 1.6 thp.

@Allexmax Well I totally agree with you. Unfortunatelly the aparently don`t. Why? Beats me. I fear that when the new C5 III. generation comes out it too won`t have the 3.0 liter version that it now has. Because the patern seems to be like this. 407 didn`t have 3.0 Hdi (240 bhp) 407 Coupe had it 607 had an older version 2.7 Hdi (208 bhp) and now 508 doesen`t have 3.0 Hdi. That`s just sad.

Peugeot 508 you can buy as 508 GT with 2.2 hdi (204bhp) powerdevil

@Jean793 I like your thinking there Jean but the Tax and Environmental reasons dictate the way they make cars these days. The 2.2HDi is a fun drive though

french cars have one of the best suspension, and comfort in the business... but i don't get why they put underpowered engines in them...if they only had bigger or more powerful engines they'd be a serious competitor.....

1st Citroën, Peugeot and Renault are usualy brands for the masses = not luxury oriented (one of the exceptions being the legendary Citroën Sm www.citroenet.org.uk/passenger-cars/michelin/sm/sm-index.html) France used to have Bugatti, Delahaye, Delage, Hispano Suiza (French division), Avions Voisin, Panhard, Hotchkiss, Facel Vega, Simca, Matra, Venturi Ligier, Alpine. Looks good, but the engines are weak,and emviromental friendly, rubbish thinking. This car is big,heavy and beautiful, why putting small engines?????!!!!!!!!!And front wheel drive?? Whyyyyy?? If these had rwd and bigger engines, it would be amazing!
