Hey Group, It’s been too long, but for good reasons. I’ve been on trail and rebuilding a High Adventure Horseback Trek Program out in these mountains. More details and videos on the BTSR Cavalcade Program will be posted in time. Huck and I are getting into shape and we have had some good adventures. All is well, hope y’all enjoy the video and... Until Next Time, Bob Hansler

We had the most beautiful, intelligent dog I've ever been blessed to share my life with in Abigail, she was half Aussie Cattle Dog and half border collie, my GOSH what an incredible being she was. So smart, social, naturally attuned to the woods as well as being a natural herder.... so very smart and social. Gosh I loved that beautiful, beautiful dog.

As an Aussie, it's strange seeing a red cattle dog all the way over in Texas...

@@salaltschul3604 But I pray hopefully a good sign, as they are most remarkable beings. I'm so grateful to have met some of them, and I praise your culture and creatures with all my heart. Abigail was a song of Britain and Aus, an age again apart and made one of the most amazing, beautiful, and intelligent beings I've EVER known. As a selfish human perspective, I highly recommend this "breed," at least this crossover. God and all good things guide us I beg to husband our animal stewards in ways that benefit them far more than ourselves. Goodness bless these creatures, and ourselves as well I hope. Sal I hope it gives you warmth to know there are critters carrying the message all over the world now, hopefully of the dreamtime *smiles warmly* best wishes Sal,bless you

Glad y'all are back. I love your content. I just got finished taking my nephew for a fishing trip almost like this. We have 600 acres of family land in eastern Alabama full of small streams with bluegill. My nephew is 12 and I gave him the reigns on the stream, how many fish to keep, cleaning them & the fire. It was great to hear him tell me what "Bob Hansler" does in those situations. Thank you for all you do for this channel. You are reaching young minds as well as my old self. Keep up the good work!

Very relaxing video and your survival cards look like great items for backup if one is caught off guard, as I'm sure most of us outdoor Pathfinders can attest to! It is also great to see the support and knowledge you are bringing to the B.S.A. I spent most of my younger years with that organization right up to some of my older Vietnam vet friends who really become mentors over the years. The tip I learned early, and still teach today to the few kids in my area is: sure it is really cool to watch and learn a technique...but to be able to use that technique in all weather conditions and multiple environments is the ticket! It might seem redundant to some, but in the end your confidence and ability will come naturally! Just saving that little bit of time by knowing what to do and doing it without thinking can save your energy levels, maybe keep you from hyperthermia, etc. keep on having fun out there!!! John

In the summer time you can suspend a can above the water with holes punched in it and put some meat in it which will attract flys maggots will fall into the water attracting fish waiting for the next one . alsoa back woodsman said if you are serious about cat fish . get a toe sack and put a bunch of meat scraps ,chicken, fish ,beef, what ever you have and hang it up in youre back card and leave it there untill youre neighbors call the police then take to youre fishing hole weight it down and throw it in next morning you can catch cats as fast as you can pull them in

Glad to to see you back stranger 😊. Another great vid. Just a little tip on setting the hook, dont pull straight up or yank it, youl end up loosing or ripping the jaw out of the fish. Just tilt your wrist back towards you and the hook will set. Used to fish with homemade willow rods many years ago, great fun. The trick is to make sure its thin and has a good taper to the tip if you can.survival situations you cant be picky 😊.would be great to see a few overnighters, different sleep setups etc....keep up the good work, glad to see your still going strong!

It's interesting to see even in this microclimate how much differences there are. I grew up and camped mostly in (and around) Northern Ohio so wet woodlands, creeks, rivers, and cold fingers are more of what I'm used to but we do have a great wildlife/foraging grocery store. Still though, there'd be some rock faces sticking out near a deep valley depression and to see how wildly different life is between maybe only 20-30 yards is in the very same overall climate.
