Steve was so sorry to hear of your fathers dead. I only knew him from the TV. I'm a artist and can relate with Bob about spending years in school to learn how to paint, then find out the old school way of painting a bore. I didn't pick up a brush until your dad put the joy back in my heart, way of painting, and the very simple way you use the different brushes plus other tools. There would be volumes if I wrote all he did for me mentally, emotionally, the true art of painting. MAKE PAINTING FUN, WE DO NOT MAKE MISTAKES JUST HAPPY ACCIDENTS. I loved nature before I saw your dad's program; now I find myself studying clouds, tree's, flowers, water (I love to do water also has very calm effect on you) and every thing else. I started getting pictures of different things I would like into making a painting. Finally found out why artist call that a "morgue", a collection of pictures of different things to either paint or use to get shapes to mold clay into different forms. I sincerely hope you and other's your dad had on the show to paint will start airing again. You do such excellent paintings also Steve, don't think you have to fill your dads shoes so to speak. your dad liked to tell stores like my husband does also. If you can make a beautiful painting and had cute saying with it, there nothing better. You see, every time you paint a part of you goes with that painting. My husband, friends and people I never met could tell what type of mood I was in when painting it. I go in to my own zone when I paint. Once again THANK YOU for being on you dads shows, and travel around teaching others to enjoy "THE JOY OF PAINTING". I'll ask my students and other people that if they can color in a coloring book then I can teach them to paint. They really don't under stand but go along with a friend and see if they could paint. Of course they are totally surprised when the picture is done. Your dad had a wonderful gift and was willing to share it with others. I really hope you will take over where your dad so fast had to stop. We as a group who love to paint will miss your dad greatly. Just remember you can not take his place but you can make your OWN place in the sun of painting. I will miss your dad for many reasons, but second to painting is your dads showing off his little critters, then again just before he let's them go back to nature free and happy he would bring them back and we could enjoy how the critters grew up. May your days be filled with joy plus peaceful painting Hope we see you soon. Your friend to be, Jamie. Oh yes by the way I am 74 years young and been in this world a long time.
