I just went through the same process on mine except the cover was super hard to take off on the account of those detent things on the front panel. It's a different brand (Frigidaire) but it looks almost exactly the same on the inside, down to the placement of the thermal fuse. Those edges are dang sharp!

yeah a lot of electronics are just rebrands which is why I laugh at "experts" who declare brand X is better than brand Y ignorant to the fact the only difference is the front label... no point in explaining that as everyone needs to be right or well they have a trantrum ;)

Working like new thanks to this video. I was able to roll the crimp open just enough to release the thermal fuse. Cut the new one to the length of the original, slipped it into the fittings, tightened the crimp joint till it was solid again. Fired right up. Bad fuse was showing 25? ohms. Thanks again!!

Hi Bob - thanks for the explicit video. Why does it clearly show a (16A) thermal fuse in the video but your link and description is of a "10A" 250V Thermal Fuses 184 Degrees Celsius

Thank you! Just disassembled mine and was about to go to town with my multimeter before I decided to go online to figure out where the thermal fuse was. Made everything a lot quicker! Didn't even need the multimeter to confirm it, lol Switching out for a new thermal fuse now, but considering that this is our THIRD Kalorik Air Fryer that's died on us (others died within a month so we just exchanged them) I'm thinking that if/when it blows a fuse again I'll swap the fuse for a switch that will reset itself when the temp goes back down. Save myself from having to disassemble the thing when it inevitably konks out again. Closest I could find was a 200°C switch as opposed to the 184°C fuse the oven came with. Same voltage and amperage. What's your opinion on that? Think that'll work alright?

wow I wonder why these blow the thermal fuse so much. I'de try and monitor your fan is running good and the flow of air isnt hindered. I cant tell u going 16c higher is ok lol... but if I did something like that I'de have to make sure the temperature 100% transfers to the switch so for example thermal loss doesnt require the unit be even 16c higher for the switch to see 200c

I didn't have a crimp tool so I tried pliers but that didn't work, so finally I just bared the wires and twisted them to fuse leads and twisted them togther good with pliers and that works fine.

that's not a good connection, that creates high resistance which causes high heat 5amp+ will instantly fry any high resistance connections. ide get a crimping tool or a higher torque pliers. can always buy crimping tool then return it.

@@bobspurloc Well I twisted the wires together well enough and crushed them togther with the pliers I'm pretty sure there isn't any high resistance, I agree a loose connection could cause a high resistance but I made sure the the wires wont come loose.

I bought one at an online auction for maybe $6 and replaced the fuse. Easy peasy. But I noticed an electrical spade tang labeled as ground on top of the fan at the top of the oven. Did yours have any wires connected to that? MIne has nothing.

it's the exact same fuse 1 rating is for 125v the other is for 220volts. you can clearly see that on the original fuse at @9:09 I should note that as people keep questioning that.

the fuse isnt blowing from AMPS. its a THERMAL fuse. it blows from being too hot.

OH, I see the question now... I had to rewatch the video... yeah the original is 16amp 110v/10amp 250v as the unit is 1700watts. However the fuse I am linking is not a 10amp fuse. read the ratings its a 10amp 250v fuse as the original one which equals 16amp 110v\10amp 250v. read the fuse as I spin in @9:09

The only reason I ask is I just want to know if people are installing a 10a when the original is 16a. I'm also curious if the fryer is running fine on a 10a.

the fuse in the unit says right on it again @9:09 its right there for you to read. "110volts 16a/ 250v 10a" so is the fuse lying? 2 ratings one for 250v one for 110v which is common for a fuse.

Watch your video because mine died. Took the thermal fuse out, put the red wires together with wire nut. Turned it on air fryer to see if worked and the wire nut immediately began to glow! Any other ideas? Thanks!

fuses get replaced with fuses of equal or lesser stats.

If I was this company I'd put a few of these fuses in Parallel so a bad fuse or 2 doesn't stop the oven from working of course it would cost a couple dollars more but it must cost them money to repair these ovens when they stop working under warranty.

It's a thermal fuse it blows when it exceeds its temperature. there is no such thing as a bad fuse. you seem to keep stating invalid facts with no knowledge of how a thermal fuse works. you cant put fuses in parallel, I'll not waste my time explaining why not, you can go take an electrical course to understand why that is a silly statement. the most likely cause of these fuses blowing is as I stated in my last reply to you. the fan most likely failed to keep the components cool. either the fan is spinning fast enough anymore or some circuitry failed to turn it on. in which sure bypass the fuse or remove it and see what happens and why thermal fuses arent opt out items... in fact go remove the thermostat from your cars engine, why would it need it? the engine cant over heat without it...

the fuse isn't blowing because its low temperature its blowing because the manufacturer determined exceeding the temperature it blows at will melt components and possibly cause a fire. solder starts melting, capacitors start bulging... higher current/temperature fuses is never the answer to anything. in this case more cooling appears to be what's needed. higher speed fan or a helper fan

We've gone through THREE of these already. First two died within a month of getting them so they were just exchanged. This one took its time and lasted about 4 or 5 months, but here I am! And yeah, confirmed it was the thermal fuse. Easy fix but thinking of swapping the fuse for an auto resetting thermal switch instead if it happens again...

Why this fuse is even necessary I don't know since the automatic settings on this oven keep the temperature from getting very high, the top setting is only like 450F for 30 minutes, so why is there a need for this fuse?

The air fryers are no good. Designed to last less than a year. Waste of money.
