Got a sub as a gift when I graduated the naval academy .wore it through out my career as a navy seal for 12 years . Never had it serviced and wore it on dives and climbs and free falls . Watch is a tank . My wife got me a newer one when I retired . I continue to wear each one everyday .

Thank you for your service. In your opinion is the Datejust (black dial) too dressy as an everyday/do-it-all watch? No question they fit biz-casual but I can’t determine if it would work with something more outdoorsy like wearing a flannel, fitted pants, boots type look..

@@RussC123 thanks brother , I wore mine everyday with anything , whether it was dress , cammies , swimming trunks and flip flops . That’s what’s beautiful with Rolex , I grew up seeing them as tool watches for work but through out the years they became more and more luxury so they can do both . I wore mine in free dives and my wedding haha

My 27 years old Submariner in SsAnd 18k is a daily 24/7 watch wore continuously for 27 years. Been serviced six or seven times at local watchmaker other then approximate gaskets it’s all original parts. Only watch I own. Perfect. I smile at it I smiles at me. Keeps about a third of a second a day time keeping after 27 of continuous service.

I have my 16200 date just and I love it to death but now that I’m looking at purchasing another watch, I’m thinking that I may go with an omega Seamaster over a submariner just because of how hard the sub is to get and how outrageous the prices are😭

Post year 2000 jubilee bracelets are much better made and have solid gold / steel rather than rolled links. Pre 2000 I would have to agree.

Sub is great, that datejust is awful, it’s naff, overly glitzy and it definitely is not a GADA watch, it looks awful with pretty much ANYTHING. A relic of the past!
