Your scrapghan is gorgeous! I'm loving the border and how visually ties it all together. You did a great job at randomizing the colors. Now I want to make one of my own!

Beautiful! I think I get my scrap yarn out and try this , but I'm having crochet block for two days , and I can't decide what to crochet too, you got so many patterns I want to do. I might make a small version of this for my chairs in dining room.
@CrochetwithClare3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Stacey. I can totally relate to crochet block. When it comes to making items for myself especially. At the moment I am not sure if I want to make a sweater or a cardigan. Maybe I should finish the other 2 cardigans I have as a WIP, mmhmm

@eveshalloween Thanks for watching :) Yes you can use any yarn you like, but i would stick to the same type of yarn either acrylic or just wool dont mix them as when you wash them they wont wash well :( Also i would use the same thickness off yarn so that is the same thickness all the way thought your blanket. Hope those tips helps you

I made 3 of these over (last) summer, end result was awesome, and I used them with my two munchkins when we went winter camping over thanksgiving (Canadian) so the nights were still pretty warm.

I think This blanket would be pretty in baby blanket size . Such a variety of colors combined, make it a work of art and could be used to help a child learn the names of shades of colors and primary colors. Not your average baby blanket. 😁

This is gorgeous. I love it. You have such an eye for color and what goes with what. Hdc is my favorite stitch. I have a lot of scraps -- a bin full. I must finish a couple Christmas gifts first, and then will see if I can do something similar with my mountain of scraps. Question: How did you keep 3 strands from twisting? I used 2 making the basket and struggled. Do you roll them into balls first? Any tips or tricks? So glad you are back. Best wishes, Kathy
@CrochetwithClare7 жыл бұрын
Hello Kathy, I never stop them from twisting, that is what they will always do. That must of just about drove you crazy trying to stop them twisting :) Thank you for your wonderful comment

Hello, yes the whole project is worked with 3 strands
@ambersullivan57309 жыл бұрын
When I started mine it seemed fine at first. Now that I've gotten in many rows it's SO BULKY! The 10mm hook here in the US is an N. Maybe I should have done 2 strands. Any suggestions?
@CrochetwithClare9 жыл бұрын
Amber Sullivan what kind of yarn did you use. it's going to be bulky with the size of hook that I used. it's kind of a heavy blanket.
@ambersullivan57309 жыл бұрын
Medium 4 worsted weight. U.S. It's probably thick enough to be a rug! LOL!
@CrochetwithClare9 жыл бұрын
yeah it will be very bulky and thick. the one I made was done with 3 strands of 8ply which is about dk in the US. Using the larger hook will also make it even more bulky. Only thing I can figure is to use a smaller hook if you are using one strand of worsted
@mecfstraveler7 жыл бұрын
Amber Sullivan my question was going to be about the yarn weight too. I would be using worsted, and I can't imagine 3 strands of worsted on a N hook. It would be so tight it wouldn't drape like a blanket. I have the image of the thick, and oval shaped braided spiral rug you wipe your feet on when coming inside. Since Claire said 8ply is like DK in the US I Know I'm gonna need a bigger hook as I'm using 3 strands of worsted. Worsted is thicker than DK. I'm going to do a test strip or square. I want to use 3 strands because Claires' lanket looks so gorgeous! I've seen 2-strand versions but I prefer Claires'! It's so pretty!
