I can't believe I am actually making this afghan. I have just started joining panels and I would be oh so lost without this tutorial. So far I have made a slanted shell afghan and another fancy afghan the name of which I can't remember, using these tutorials. I am so grateful to have them. I have learned so much. Thank you!

Love, just love mile a minute crochet. Anytime I have to go to my mother-in-laws house for a holiday, I bring 5 balls of yarn and my crochet hooks. When she starts talking I start a strip of mile-a-minute for an afghan.

Maybe once I finish I will post a VR to show you what I have made. I look forward to more tutorials using the granny square variations. I crocheted 2 practice strips and assembled them (join as you go method). Tension is the key when joining the strips. Once I got the right tension, I had no problems....except for the end because I started the joining strip on the wrong side. However, I fiddled with it (backwards crochet rip out), it came out okay. Kind of fun to do once you get the "hang of it"!

Hi bobwilson, I love this tutorial you made, The strips are so easy but I am going to have to go over the video again when I am ready to join the strips. Looks fairly easy to do. My step dad's friend gave me all the yarn his wife had when she passed away so, I am making him a blanket with the yarn he gave me. I started one doing all dc and some how I had 350 st and now I only have 320 so, I am going to rip it out and use this style stitch to make his blanket. Thank you again and I will post a picture of it when it's done. Thank you and have a Blessed weekend.

I've always wondered how to join the strips together as you have. I have always joined them after I have made my pieces or squares, etc. I use a color of thread the same as the outer edges to blend in and just match of the stitches and stitch them from the back. It always looks neat and even and know that the pieces are completely anchored one to the other. It seems as though the method shown isn't quite as sturdy. I still love the method shown, though and want to try it next time. Thank you!

yes the same colour nails as yarn made it very difficult to actually SEE what you were doing - but i think it was because the lighting was too dark at the beginning - the lighting improved along the way and then of course we had the colour changes, which helped enormously. As always your instructions are impeccable and I don't know how you remember to keep calling a Treble a Double Crochet for our American friends.. Hats off to you girl L.O.L

I miss your painted nails Claire, they were always immaculate and I've always adored your colour choices. Your videos have helped me and many others to crochet, and given us the confidence to make clothes as well as afghans, hats and handbags.... THANK YOU, YOU ROCK! TO THOSE WHO MAKE NEGATIVE COMMENTS... Claire teaching us and no-one has the right to tell her what to wear in her own videos. Those who have commented dictating how she presents yourself should just shut up and go away. There is always the off button on your computer if you don't like what you see. negative comments from behind your anonymous video screen are cruel and hurtful.. Claire is a human NOT a robot, she has feelings and some of the comments i have seen are nasty and down right rude. Knock it off!!

Thank you Cherry ! So glad that you have learnt so much and sounds like you have been making a heap too Yes people are always going to comment with rude and hurtful things. Lucky I am tough and brush it off. You know what, any comment on KZbin is a positive one, the more these trolls and horrible people comment the more KZbin thinks the video is being interacted with ...so really the jokes on them :) Plus I have been around a while and these people obviously have bigger problems that the colour of my nail polish :) Thank you for the confidence boost ! Happy crochet :)

bobwilson123 look at it this way Clare.... you have something the trolls don't have. So by making negative comments and putting you down, it's the only way they can attempt to make themselves feel better. It is one thing to give constructive criticism, it's another thing be insulting and mean. I love your videos and I appreciate everything you do to help the crochet community :-)

Hello Pamela !! Long time no chit chat. Thank you for your support and i know who love my content and the others can watch someone else if that is what makes them happy Hope you are staying warm - pretty sure its cold where you are ? You can have some of my heat, its supposed to me 40C on Thursday, this New Zealand acclimatized girl is going to melt ! I complained to hubby i was hot today and he said you know its only 24c...to us that is like a heat wave, this is our first summer back in Aussie

bobwilson123 so good to see you back on KZbin! That's quite a move :-) I saw a couple of your garden videos and your yard is beautiful. We had our first little bit of snow yesterday. I don't mind the cold it was around 28 degrees Fahrenheit. I'm working full-time the Christmas season at Macy's. Fine Jewelry LOL. Also trying to complete my crochet blankets. I'm now working on the scraptastic pattern for my son. Will post a picture soon :-) miss all your updates. I get lots of compliments on the yarn I bought from you :) my other goal is to make the Cozy Cardi after the holidays :) Merry Christmas! And... I'm with you, I don't like it really hot!
