​@@TheReactPack I once did the math on what the average day is like for Bocchi, and I really wish I could find that comment so I don't have to redo it, but we don't always get what we want, lmao Bocchi travels between home and school twice a day, two hours each way. From how empty the streets of Shimokitazawa were when she went to school with her guitar in the first episode, we know that she's getting to school relatively early (probably no more than half an hour before school starts) so she doesn't have to deal with a *_crowded_* commute. This means she's probably boarding a train at 6 am to arrive at school around 8, since homeroom starts at _8:35_ am. (And she definitely rides the train-she's not living "just out of town", she's out of _prefecture._ that's like living in Bronx County of the state of New York and traveling to Queens, Orange, or Albany (other NY counties) to go to school. Side note-I used to live on the borderline between two school districts, because I lived in the rural gap between two different towns, but both districts were still part of the same county. I was so out of the way that the bus driver straight up _stopped coming_ because it was too big a hassle, so I had to walk an hour to and from school each day. Again, Bocchi's commute is *_crazy._* Continuing on, Japanese high schools tend to let out around 3:30 pm, with some after school clubs running until 5 or 6 pm. Bocchi doesn't attend clubs, but I can imagine that she'd hang out (in the library for example) for an hour or so too let the Exodus of her peers peter out so there's less people around on her commute home (which is basically what she was doing when Nijika going her at the playground). Instead, she now goes to Starry and sometimes does band practice, but even without that she now _works_ at Starry. Using the real life Shelter that Starry is based on, it opens at 6 pm each weeknight (noon on weekends), and closes at 11 pm Sunday-Thursday, and 4 am on Saturdays and Sundays. I'm gonna assume Nijika's sister isn't the type of boss to make high schoolers work past midnight, so let's say Bocchi gets off at 11, and they finish cleaning up the club in a half hour. That means she takes the late night train and gets home between 1:30 and 2 am, sleeps for four hours, and gets back up to do it all again. Which is ridiculous and not supported by what we see in the show, as Nijika's sister calls her a part-timer, so let's instead assume that she goes to Starry, attends band practice or does her homework until around 4 pm, and then works a five hour shift on weeknights so she can take the evening train and get home _before_ midnight. That gets her roughly six hours of sleep on the days she's at work. Basically, Bocchi _isn't_ me fr fr because she's an absolute juggernaut who puts in 190% effort every single day. She's my hero for that work ethic alone.

I love Ryo, she's my favorite charater. It's really nice seeing a character that just likes being alone. While most people relate to Bocchi in this show I relate the most to the weird girl in blue hair. Except when it comes to money, I pay back what I borrow!

Me too, I have no problem going out to do stuff that I like and want. But I dread the times I am in a social situation I didnt sign up for and generally avoid interaction with people. Eventhough she is nothing like me my favourite of the bunch is Nijika, maybe bcs of it. Sorry for mucho texto, I love BTR and I think the show nailed differentiating types of people in preference of socializiation.

Someone probably explained it, bu I don’t feel like checking all the comments to see😂 Her name is Hitori which means “one person”, but can also mean “alone” or “by oneself”. And hitoribocchi means “loneliness” or “solitude”. So then Ryo suggests that they should call her Bocchi, because Hitori+Bocchi=hitoribocchi. (Also, her little sister is named Futari, which means “two people”. Her parents are so creative 😂)

Hitori's home is roughly 23.35miles in a straightline from the STARRY (real name SHELTER)...So taking into account trains don't always travel in straight lines and stop at a number of stations...Plus the time taken for train transfers (which she'd have to do for this trip)....means the trip can take longer than you'd like...I visited Hitori's home neighbourhood when in Japan to tick off more of the real life locations from the show. Not really a spoiler...but Kita is the only character who calls Hitori by her name..the rest all call her Bocchi...Because of her kind nature, she is kind enough to call Hitori by her real name..I believe this because Kita doesn't want to exaggerate Hitori's anxiety with such a nik name.

I've never related to the anxiety of a character so much that I do Bocchi on her first day of work LMAO My first job was back of the house dishwashing in a restaurant before being moved to front of the house as bar back. Making that switch was terrifying because I'd actually need to interact with customers. Now a days I still get super anxious when I need to interact with customers and not just cook their food, but it's much less extreme now that I've done it a bit.

I always cheer for Bocchi and I'm so proud of her for every little step she takes on that looong stairs 😊 Btw, that quota rule is a real thing, at least in such clubs in Japan. There'll usually be 3 to 4 smaller bands to perform on an evening and everyone of them has to fullfill said quota. This show gives you a real and authentic insight into the local music scene.

@@sofiat3970 that sounds more like an omnivert. The difference between each personality can be assessed by how a question would be answered. Let's say the question is: would you rather be an anonymous KZbin rock star or be in a rock band and perform live? An introvert will say YT Rockstar An extrovert will say Rockband performer An ambivert will say either one is fine An omnivert will say sometimes YT Rockstar, sometimes Rockband performer.

In the first episode she declined Nijika's invitation to go out after the concert because her social battery is dead, an extrovert would get energy from social interactions instead of losing them, which is why Ryo was also tired

@@willpina the way i learned introvert vs extrovert was more to do with differing energy levels in social situations rather than personal desires so since bocchi usually gets drained after social interaction tells me that shes an introvert. but it does make sense when you categorise it like that then she could be an extrovert
