I don’t mind using the hardwire for my Apple CarPlay because it charges my phone at the same time. As you know using Waze zaps the battery on your cell phone in a hurry or at least it does mine.

A couple of old fart Army buddies and I are doing a ride from Middle Tennessee to the Million Dollar Highway in August and I’d like to get some video of the ride. I’m not interested in posting anything online just for my personal use. Best GoPro, best way to mount (helmet, chest or fairing mount), etc. Any advice appreciated!!

Nifty little gadget there. I can definitely see the benefits of get on and go. Wish I had CarPlay on the Pan America. Love it on the goldwing. Wonder if that little thing would work on my Goldwing? They should send me one for testing. Only draw back is CarPlay uses a lot of power when running apps.

I definitely am a fan of CarPlay, but I am usually wired. I can see it helping, but have actually ended up putting it in my truck.

Very timely issue, as I had to replace my phone and the new one won’t fit in the batwing compartment anymore. So I was wondering what I was going to do about that!

well all the this doesn't work since Harley with their latest software update M23.22.27.00 eliminated carplay on my 20 roadglide limited--everything worked just fine until dealer updated my radio software without my blessing--it tricks the system into thinking one has a mike plugged but know even with my headset and mike plugged in the system says microphone not detected when attempting to connect with Siri which it did before however it still communicates with Harleys radio itself GPS etc

You can add CarPlay to any bike, I use the Maxca C5 Pro

Great video. You should mention that people will still need a headset boom mic to receive and make calls and reply to text, also what year is the Ram? Looks newer. Surprisingly it doesn't have wireless car play.

Which jumper did you use that actually worked? Do you still have the jumper on there to use this wireless? Can you use Waze and play music from either playlist or Pandora etc. at the same time?

Yes, and sorry I’m just getting back to you on this. You have to use the jumper with this wireless adapter because the bike does not have CarPlay on it. I use it for all my music as well as Waze.

Off Topic Well I put the Revo A on my FLTRK. That was so easy I’m thinking about asking for a refund. I did them one at a time. Right and then left. Bolted right in and I only had to move jack once. It took longer to get my saddlebags off. 30 min and done.

If your bike is newer and comes with Apple CarPlay capabilities, then you are good. If not, you need the jumper. Still works great for me too!

I have this set up for my truck (2021). My Bike is a 2016 Road Glide Special. Is there something out there to use the stock HD unit, or do I need to upgrade my whole deck? Also, does the 2019 HD GTS unit fit in my 2016?

I believe you can’t do the jumper in a boom box before 2019. Not sure on fitment for your 2016

I think that is kinda cool. Don’t need or use it. Don’t really see the point of it on the bike. I don’t want or need my phone attached to my bars. I just plug it up and put the phone in the cubby. Don’t have to worry about losing the phone or it falling off. Also keeps me from fiddling with the phone as the damn phone is and can be distracting. Also my phone will normally need a charge anyway.😂

I would have to do some research to check if this would work on PanAmerica with Android. If yes that would be such a good option. A question, for this to work we need the jumper also meant for Android? Is the jumper plug n play or does it need to stay on the bike ?

they have a different one for Android but remember the bike has to be "CarPlay abled". Let me know how it goes!

🛑🛑 Bob…can you explain to me when you said “wired” , what does that mean? Does the device act like a “mirror” from your phone, to the Infotainment System in the bike? Can you now run WAZE? What “years”will the device work with? Thanks.

So the device itself needs to be plugged in and then is bluetooth to your phone. You must have a vehicle that already has Apple CarPlay. As an example, my bike had the jumper so the device sees it as Apple Carplay. Most cars/trucks have that covered. The video on my jumper is in the pinned comments and I recall it being 2018 and beyond

Looks like an awesome product. Anything that gets us wireless is usually a good thing in my opinion. You mentioned using an apple car play jumper for the bike. Could you explain what that is? I don't have a jumper for my android, just plug it into the bike and android auto is available. Thanks for sharing!

Nice review. I also have the jumper for apple CarPlay. I have heard that if you use the maps for an extended trip if will drain you battery if not plugged into and charging your phone so I'd be interested on your results. Ride safe.

The only downside is once you use Bluetooth technology as opposed to hard wired, you lose Apple Lossless playback quality on your music as Bluetooth compresses the signal.

I should have noted my comment only applies to Apple Music Lossless. If you stream You Tube or Spotify music they don’t offer Lossless streaming so the wireless connection won’t have a detrimental effect on the sound quality😀

Way too much technology for me! I much prefer my low/no tech Road King! I even carry a paper road atlas in my saddlebag as it’s never out of cell range. I had a Road Glide at one time and the radio was useless above about 55 mph due to wind noise. Now in a car or truck I could see it, but on a bike, no thanks!
