Bodeans not the Bodeans without Sammy. Plain and simple.

Saw Bodeans recently in Stuart, FL without Sammy the pedophile. He was not missed. It was a great show. Must admit I enjoyed seeing them together several times in the early 90s when I lived in the Chicago area.

I first heard the Bodeans on the radio years ago in Austin TX, a UT radio station . I didn’t catch their name and wasn’t sure of the song name, but went to a store on the drag and humiliated myself by singing the little I could remember and a bored clerk said Still the Night. They had booths where one could listen to a CD before buying, so I did and I bought it! Love this band and songs. My favorite is Still the Night, but my older son prefers Good Things. ❤ 7:36 PM

This song gives me chills. I stumbled on this band during this song in San Diego 2008 while riding my bike home from the beach. I had to stop and take it all in. A very vivid memory. I remember how good they sounded. I sang it to myself all the way home. All these years later, I thought to search them here. Still the same chills, and now those memories flooding back. What a song!

this is my favorite song...when i was 39 years old i met a much younger woman. we spent the night talking and she said if i ever had a free tuesday evening i should come to visit her on her evening off. so, i did. three years later we married. 28 years ago i met her on july 4th weekend. this coming december we celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. we have two children. and are probably the happiest couple i know. i am just glad she did not pass me by. did not pass me over. i could see good things for she and i. oh, she was 19 at the time we met. there are no maps, not books on age different relationships. but i will say i have been in love with her since almost the time i first saw her. some say i have a young soul and she has an older soul and our compatibility level pretty much levels out at the same age:) society probably felt this would not work. glad to say it has, is, and will continue!

John Slavich I’m wondering if she kept her figure, and kept herself up, I see that as a key factor in guys staying interested and a woman still feeling sexy. Please let me know, I know it sounds shallow, but I think it’s a biological equation. I could be wrong!

I’m hoping the new CD “4 the Last Time” has more rock songs like this with melody. The new single has that repetitive country drum beat like Texas Ride Song which is upbeat but doesn’t resonate with younger people. I’m a lifelong fan and took my 20 something son and 2 of his friends to a show in 2022 and they loved the music - except Texas Ride Song, it was way too country! Please keep writing great music and playing live!!!!

The fact that these guys didn't gain more traction in the mainstream is a head scratcher. I often wonder if Closer to Free hadn't become the theme song for Party of Five, how much less exposure they would have. Generally great music is enough but for whatever reason they never reached the level of exposure one would expect for such a talented group with so many great songs.

I follow everything about the BoDeans, and in my personal opinion THIS is one of the most magical player lineups that I have ever witnessed in all my years working in the music and entertainment Industries! It is literally a friggin CRIME that this group was changed up in any manner and did not continue onward and upward to a ROCK SOLID SHELF. I have never witnessed such a travesty before, and have successfully predicted similar status doing this more than 100 TIMES throughout in the last 4 decades...I am truly brought to tears over this and left with that football in the stomach feeling that one gets after a bad divorce or death of a close friend....what a shame... we have all been ROBBED....TRULY!

I got to see them twice...in 1987 when I was in college, and in 2008 with my then 11 year old daughter. She fell asleep on my lap while we sat in the front row. Kurt saw us, gave her a shout out, and they sang her a lullaby. They closed the show with an acappella Only Love. Robbed?? Blessed. Absolutely blessed. Nothing lasts forever...but they have given us timeless music and precious memories. Don't be bitter.

I am not bitter, just sad because I unrealistically live in a personal place where I think that this level of talent should afford fans more mileage, just my personal pet peeve I suppose. Richard Mantie One of the BEST shows I've ever attended. Decatur Celebration, Decatur IL ( I'm thinking 2006) they only allowed them to play 45 minutes and they were the Headliner. They promised to deliver as much of themselves in that time slot as they could. These guys had one hellacious drawing that night and held fast to their promise! Love them and the type of jams they put out. Would go see them any time!

I ditto about going to see them anytime kath3lyn, but I don't think the wind is in my favor cause I seem to be stuck in Vegas nowadays milking a few drops out of my own Entertainment career but, if they pass this way I might unplug my guitar and run to the ticket outlet!

It's a sad thing that everything ends in time like this group did. They were one of several bands I fell in love with during the 90's that eventually fell apart after having done amazing things. Not every band gets to be the Rolling Stones unfortunately - who don't seem like they'll die until the band-members actually die.
