The Gold pin with the 2 horses heads, That's a Teamsters Union pin, this one may have been a Union Stewards pin. Teamsters started as shippers the earliest ( not yet Union) wereHorse & wagon Freight Haulers, My Dad was a LongHaul Trucker; owner operator, when he sold out he worked for the original Navajo Freight Lines, was sold out to ArkansasBestFreight. Dad retired in the late 80s, & passed in 95. I read nearly everything about the teamsters, including Jimmy Hoffa's story a long time back. I love Histories & Biographies. I hope it won't be long until you do part 2, this was "Verrrrie interrestieng". 🔍🚬🔎history

The yellow nesting hen is a popular idem now for collectors. Do not sell for $25.00. Check on eBay for it could be worth way, way more than than that. The blue little box with a cameo could be a Wedgewood and could be as high as $200.00

Must be an Ohio thing to put the bodies in storage units. I bought 23 units at 7 locations, on the same day there a few years ago. Sent the boys and the big trucks to load it up. After unloading and getting to the boxes, we had 2 bodies. Probably from 2 different units. Thankfully both had card with info in them, so, I was able to get them back to the families. It didnt creep us out. We made jokes about our new friends watching over us because we rescued them.

The only reason I could see for leaving ashes in storage is if they became homeless or had to bounce around living from place to place. I lost my place to live like 4 years ago and was fortunate enough to be able to store my mementos in my moms basement. I currently rent a room so I still don't have enough room for all my items.

The box with mom and dad in it certainly contained some valuable stuff. Mom and dad included. If you look through that box you will find many gemstones. There was even a crystal just laying on the bottom of the box. Black diamond in a foam baggie, emeralds , and gold. Your money is definitely made from that box. I think they put the most valuable stuff in there because they believed no one would go through it because of the ashes.

Yellow freight used to be a huge trucking company here in KC, MO. Their headquarters was less then 3 miles from my house. Companies would give those pins out, sometimes, as an at'a boy for so many miles with no wrecks or tickets. I think they where bought out by Roadway. I might be wrong about that though. At any rate those pins are also highly collectible.

Yellow freight is the biggest trucking company in north America. They just bought out nearly every regional carrier. New Penn, Holland, YRC, and lots of other smaller regionals are now Yellow Freight. Source: I used to work for a small regional freight company in new Jersey but I now work for Yellow freight because they bought us. Basically all the Teamster's freight companies in NA are Yellow now.
