I remember watching this on a model railway DVD I got as a child. Excelent design, modelling, naration, music and filming! So sad to hear it's been taken down.

Thanks, I’m glad to say that ‘Bodmin’ has risen from the ashes and now exists in a much more accurate model,also in O gauge ,using much of the same buildings.a new video is in production and should be available in a couple of months

Went to B & W when living in England early 2000s. The model is instantly recognisable. So sad it's no more, especially with its unique control systems. Thanks for the privilege of seeing it.

Thanks Geoff, the model has been completely rebuilt over the past couple of years and is now a lot more accurate but now using DCC control with sound. Please look out for a new video coming soon which features the new station plus Bodmin Road and Boscarne Junction and also Wenfordbridge clay dries.

Ray was very kind to help me with advice on IR and RC control - a good few years back. A friend sent me a link to You Tube video recently, and I was reminded of this excellent, charming layout. Wow. What a wonderful model. Makes me think large scale Pendon. It is such a pity it is no more, it would have made in inspirational exhibition layout. I have often thought of signaling in this fashion, but sadly I've not had the wherewithal to pursue the idea. I love the Infrared control system too. I've read of it, but this is the first demonstration I have ever seen. Superb camera work too, which really enhances the quality of the modelling, which is itself fabulous. My only criticsim the music, although very nice, is too prominent, though I did like the station call out.

IR control and on board batteries gives you the chance to rust the rail tops or paint aluminium paint on the more used ones. DCC can’t do that.

Having long dabbled in mostly in the larger model railway scale (9mm/ft (1:33.86) New Zealand Railways - NZR), US O scale (1/48) and through friends British O scale, your Bodmin layout presented here is what I would describe as a master piece. Interesting technology to with the wireless loco control and wonderful detail. Thank you for sharing the clip and noting the layout has been dismantled, are you still modelling?
