I had all those fuel system parts laid out on a tarp in our basement and it was so satisfying to install all those component to the freshly painted floor/bottom of my Cutlass, exactly the same as this video. (Except I put the tank on after mating the body on the frame and didn’t have any issues)
@theautorefinery23 күн бұрын
This is when these cars are just like life-size model kits!! I have only ever installed tanks with bodies on the frame, snaking the filler tube between the body and rear frame. This way, while easier, was still a bit of a pain. Those tank strap bolts are just barely long enough. ugh. So glad to have you watching along. Fun times anyway. -steve

Hey there and thanks for that compliment! Yes, for the most part, the "heavy lifting" is in fact behind us. And for the most part, the less expensive work is done . Now is where the big bucks $$$ start flowing. We really appreciate you taking the time to watch. Every view helps! Stay Tuned, -steve

@theautorefinery23 күн бұрын

This must feel so good to be at this point. I found your channel when you were welding the patches in the frame. I have been going back and watching the earlier videos to get caught up. I would think it will flow a little better now that the major rust work is done. How many hours a day or week would you say you spend on it?
@theautorefinery22 күн бұрын
Yes It sure does. feel great! But we need to keep our eye on the prize. and need to keep on trucking here. We are so grateful that you found our channel and took the time to check it out. There is a ton of stuff for you to go back and watch if you'd like. We really do appreciate every minute that people chose to watch our channel. As far as hours go.... I keep a pretty accurate log book for all of our cars, especially this one! This project began 27 months and 875 hours ago. That's an average of just over 32 hours a month. But in all honesty, there are occasions when I just cannot make the time to work on it, so when I do, I tend to log some long hours. I like to work in the garage at least a couple nights a week for a few hours each. But I would say that the lions share of the work is done during those 12-20 hour long weekends. Thank You for that question. I love talking about what these things really take. Fun to talk about! Stay tuned and hope to hear from you sometime soon, -steve Happy New Year to you.

Yes, I agree 2 years is a long time, but a fair amount of undivided attention to get here. I feel like we do ok with the time we have available. And yes I agree.....I too have thrown away stuff much much better than this one. It was a tough call to say the least. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to play along.
