Looks very similar to when I was at the Ballistic research foundation run by the FBI. You’d think testing all that stuff would be super sexy. But they will set up up a dozen high speed cameras, get angles and distances, set temps and humidity and check all those things twice, hand load one round, then start all over with the next variable. I was told on a good day you’ll fire 10-12 shots. They do that for every grain of bullet, barrel length, bullet type, etc etc. sounds super cool. But crazy scientific and boring for most of us. But that’s the way it has to be to get precise and repeatable and predictable data.
@armorers_wrench18 күн бұрын
They do this with a lot of industrial PPE. In this case the PPE is designed to stop bullets so, has to be a little more autistic than a pair of cut resistant gloves, ya know? But I'm glad it is that way. You know you're getting a good product as a result of this thorough testing.

@@traex8325 that's a pretty stupid comment, Hesco isn't owned by TRex Arms. You think every reseller of body armor does testing like this before hand? Probably close to none, Trex arms tests all sorts of armor and weapons, so acting like its common place for a company to do this crazy of testing is just dumb. So not knowing they did this level of testing is pretty common. LOL

Cool and all for the people that care about numbers but the tests with the plate in a carrier on a ballistics gel torso would be more realistic.

I’m not gonna lie I just recently bought a sling from T-Rex arms and was not happy with the quality it came. We’re talking frayed ends stitching off to tell the truth my $20 one that I bought at a gun show looks like better quality than the one I bought from you guys. It’s kind of very disappointing. Love your content love all that you do but the sling was a big disappointment.

@@jhonon1 Hesco has "the most NIJ safety audit failures and recalls of any hard armor manufacturer" according to the Jul 24, 2023 write up by Apex Armor Solutions titled "Why We Don't Carry Hesco Armor". Other armor vendors also backed this decision at the time. This was due to the 3610, 3400, 4600 and 4400 plates failing NIJ and being recalled (I believe the 46 or 44 were delisted from NIJ for a time). This is a product meant to literally save your life...if it fails once, GG.
