I really like Dr.Elizabeth Yarden. She does an excellent job describing these murderers childhoods. Any child in abbuusive situations, is a victim, ANY CHILD. But as adults, they make very clear choices, regardless of their past. As adults, they HAVE A CHOICE too get help, or not further victimize others. There's no excuse that stands up. THIS criminologist is very clear about this. Peter Tobin had plenty of CHOICES. He acted on disgusting and cruelest desires. It's a shame that these young women's lives were not only cut short but they suffered the greatest humiliation before the FECKING monster took their lives. He deserved to rot his entire life in jail, without mercy. 21 yrs doesn't cut it for me.

Sentences for murder are appalling here. There are a few on life tariff (never to be released), but tends to be only the well known ones alone sadly. “Life sentences” are a joke, and an insult to victims and their families.

@@Charley.Farley life sentences do mean life in the UK. When you hear about somebody getting 15 years for murder that is just their earliest eligibility date for parole. There is no guarantee they will actually be released at that time. If a life sentence prison is granted parole they are on a lifetime license and have to comply with a lot of restrictions. They can also be immediately recalled to prison at any point.
