I ordered the body pigmentation kit last year and used it on my elbow. I followed all the instructions which was given on how to use it. I started noticing after few weeks of use that small bumps and irritation are there on my elbow so I stopped using it for a month or more. After that I again started using it and the bumps were back within a week. This time I threw the box away. I wrote the mail to Dr. V support email. All I get in response was few questions and then saying please stop using it. It might have worked for someone but for me it was a complete disaster also considering the fact it was such an expensive product.

My main issue with the body kit is that the cream isnt in a airless pump like most of your products. Also the lid for the cream is faulty once you squeeze the lid to close it it reopens. I love the products but there has been 3 malfunctions with packaging of the products and it usually always the lids on the dr v products. Good ingredients but some of the products have very faulty packaging.

Hello there, I purchased the hyperpigmentation body kit and I have using it according to the instructions for a few years now. I didn't use it religiously, only when the seasons didnt have a lot of sun where im from. It was working very well and I was thrilled since my pigmenation lightened considerably. I use spf 50 when I go outside. I am from the UK so most of time its cloudy but now that summer is here, its really hot and sunny. Despite putting sun protection on the places where I use the hyperpigmentation lotion such as my toes and elbows, they have turned jet black. I'm medium brown skin tone and my hyperpigmentation has always been dark but this is charred toast, charcoal jet black, there are super black patches on the places where I used the hyperpigmentation cream. I'm worried its increased my risk of skin cancer but I might not be right saying that it could well just be feeling a lot more insecure as the hyperpigmentation looks a lot worse. I dont go out a lot but when i do, I wore sandals and a short sleeve shirt. I did apply sun cream every two hours. Am I supposed to avoid the sun completely even with SPF protection. I think there should be some kind of precaution or disclaimer given for this product as to what may happen when you go into the sun. Im not too sure but from ny experience i suggest maybe being fully clothed when the suns out, it might be hard if you use this kit and live in hot countries or want to go on holiday. I wanted to start actually doing things and dressing up and going out during the summer but I feel almost prevented from doing so now knowing that it could be "dangerous" or knowing that the hyperpigmentation will worsen. If I had known this, before I think I wouldn't have bought the kit because I'd rather have my original shade of pigmentation and still be able to do summer activities. Not saying this will happen to everyone but this happened to me and I didn't add any extra creams to my hyperpigmented areas. This only started to happen after using the hyperpigmentation body kit. I would say if you want to lighten areas that are hidden from sun exposure like your behind or your knees if you cover your legs. I would be careful and weigh the costs of using hyperpigmentation kit.

Hi, Dr I suffer from PCOS and I've only started using Sunscreen from 21 years old I'm now 23, I have bad hyperpigmentation such as my eyelids, under arms, back of neck, around mouth etc. I'm so self conscious and it has caused my self-esteem to reduce. Hi dr v..one very important question. Many dermatologist says that using moisturiser before Tretinoin decreases the risk of purging and peeling, So is this true that Tretinoin can work or shows results without any side effects? Is it possible?

It won't reduce risk of purging unless less active is penetrating the skin. Moisturiser does reduce irritation by behaving as a buffer. X

Hi Dr Vanita, As an Indian with olive skin, I've noticed that my arms tend to develop a tan from sun exposure, even after moving to Scotland. It's become quite visible and I find myself avoiding short sleeves. I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to minimize or get rid of it. Additionally, since moving to Scotland, my once brighter skin has become duller and occasionally irritated.
