Baked for 7:30, probably would have been fine with 6:30-7:00. Fresh, the cookies were a little dry and spongy, but still good. However, I put them in a Tupperware for storage and when I went back for one after about 2 hours, they were moist, softer, and even tasted better. I also froze some, and those were good too. Wanted to share so others don't toss their batch after the intial result.

For all those people in the comments who are saying their cookies turned into pancakes, dry, flavourless and spongy. It's because the 2 most quintessential aspects of cookies are the fat and sugar. In usual cookie batter you would add a shit ton of butter, caster sugar, brown/white sugar and lots of flour. This recipe substitutes most of the dry ingredients but has no replacement alternatives for the sugar and fat. I do think this recipe has potential, but just have to figure out how to remedy a fat-like consistency. Peanut butter would be the bet, but the macros would become exponentially higher obviously.
@guitardave884 жыл бұрын

For a thicker, more moist cookie: Add 1.5oz box of sugar free chocolate pudding mix (the dry stuff in the baking isle by "jell-o") and 1/3cup of water. Increase cook time to 11minutes. You've added 128cal to the entire recipe in the form of 32g of carbs. Mixing dry ingeredients together first helps with consistancy in all recipes. Otherwise, keep the recipe the same. I can't stop eating these. Thanks James!

Awesome looking cookies and impressive macros (and more importantly for me since I'm still a bit over 20% bodyfat, the F-ing calories!). I have been using Greg Doucette's cookbook for a year or so maybe, but now I'm seriously tempted to buy yours as well! Nice (as in freakin' awesome) work! And thanks for sharing this stuff completely free of charge. I'm gonna try coach Greg's low-cal "anabolic" cookie recipe first, but if his don't give me cookies that are at least a 8.5/10 in my food taste scale, then I'll definitely try yours next! Heck, it it wasn't for the 1-2 big-ass ultra high calorie cookies I'm eating most days I'd already be down to bodyfat around the 13-15%. Heck, I kid you not, if I manage to make yummy low-cal chocolate chip cookies (I mean big ones, like 70-100g ones) and get them down to maybe 100-150 calories I'd be down to 15-17% body fat by new year! what protein powder did you use? In my experience it's usually that. Rem's is a isolate/concentrate blend, which is not at all absorbent, but also leaves it drier. Pure isolate even more so. Casein binds fluids like crazy. There neither is consistency between type of powder, nor is it between brands. They pure whey concentrate of company one might work whereas the pure whey concentrate of another might not, even though it's both 100% whey concentrate. If it's not the powder I can't help you other than suggesting being more careful with coconut flour (extremely fibrous and absorbent), but if it is the powder you have no choice but to experiment a bit. Generally speaking, though, these aren't actual cookies. Most whey baked goods are on the drier side and have a cake-lik texture.
@JasonAlexanderKim4 жыл бұрын
@@Janmann2007 Agreed. My cookie review video on them was basically the same situation. I'm hesitant on cooking with whey proteins unless its a mix of whey and casein. Im planning to check out an FDL recipe to see if the cookies turn out any better. But in general i've just seen these protein cookies turn out dry/cakey.

I plan on making these without the chocolate chips, and top them with a sugar cookie hummus instead! Hopefully it turns out good

The reason the cookies are coming out spongy and dry is because there is little to no fat in this recipe and to much protein powder so I suggest in stead of using egg whites use regular eggs for the fat content, and to compensate for the extra calories and cut down on the sponginess cut back to 1 scoop of protein powder. Yes I know you will be losing protein but the cookies will still be much lower in calories than regular cookies. They will also still have a lot of protein considering there cookies.

Like others are saying - they are much more of a bread consistency, like pancakes. But still good. Probably make these just for myself, not sharing.

Hi Remington should the calories be lower in my case. I cannot have too much sugar. I use stevia. I need to have more muscle so I need more protein right? Ur cookie recipe is awsome.
