Thats weird your performance on 4k with no FSR or FG is what i get with my 4070 ti on the woods map. I get around 60-68 on the shoothouse map, and with fg and FSR i get around 90 frames

Hey BB! After doing a bit of googling, you're not the only one suffering from extremely strange behaviour with a 14900k and a 4090 in UE5 games. So, If you want I can continue to dig, but everywhere I looked it was the same story.

10:32 something is not right,you were barely utilizing 200watts on 4090 with 98% gpu usage,ive seen this exact problem before ,nv app was the culprit of that case so it might be the culprit here aswell.

yeah definitely. What's weird is i only have this poor performance in unreal engine 5 games. Been testing a few things out recently but no luck. Thanks for the tip on the nv app il try that out

@@BenchmarkBoy Yeah. Your should get right around 144 fps or just under on a 4090 at 4k with FSR 3 Quality + FG. That is what I get at least and have also seen in other benchmarks posted to KZbin from others.

no wonder why Nvidia is releasing the 50 series so soon we gonna need the 5090TI with all these graphics style games coming out I just hope AMD and Intel understand we need new Gen CPU's That perform 2x better than current gen CPU's They need to start using Graphene transistors it will cost a lot to make them but they will be wayyyy more powerful

You are correct. I’d rather use ps5 than my 4090 and 14900k combo. I am not sure if that’s because of the intel degradation issue or something else. Unreal engine games are unplayable even with safe bios settings. When the gpu is compiling shaders then normally it turns off or just bsods with out of video memory error. Three times in warranty and they did not find any faults.

i imagine they just severely understaff the development team and they barely get a working product out there. Then just slap DLSS and/or FSR and try to pretend the performance is OK.

For some reason unreal engine 5 games perform really terribly for me. Still investigating why that might be the case. You'd mostly expect slightly higher fps more like 50-60 but like you say thats still really low for this kind of hardware. Hopefully the performance can be improved with a patch or two because its early access at the moment

@@BenchmarkBoy Id imagine espcially in 4k you'd be reaching at least 60 without any upscaling or frame gen. But I can say on my RTX 3060 XC in 1440p I have to had frame gen on or it will run 35-50FPS :/ I have a 4k monitor so I'm definitely not playing in 1080p it looks awful. With the frame gen it runs okay at 60-80fps but issue is everything looks so grainy from the FSR + Frame gen it's just bad. Wish they add DLSS so we can use DLSS with FSR frame gen instead. Definitely needs some optimization though, there's slight stuttering here and there as well I've noticed. I really hate using frame gen and never use it but kind of have to right now but only for this game, definitely doesn't help with input latency / frame times. We have all of this upscaling / frame gen and sure it boosts FPS but in reality, we all know the best damned experience is with normal AA setting, no upscaling 100 percent resolution scaling... Honestly kind of miss those days. :/

@@BenchmarkBoy I also just think it's UE5 itself, tbh it's rediculous the only UE5 game so far from my experience that ran great was The Finals. I think it's all up to the devloper that's using UE5 engine. But as I've heard there's only 2 devs making this game, so honestly I'd have to say a decent job.

It's not UE5. It's badly optimised because it's an early access version, so there will be bugs and other problems because the game is still in development. Hopefully, it will launch in a well optimised state when the full game is released. There have been well optimised games on UE5, such as Lies of P
