The kid was literally putting his own life, the officers and the public at risk. All the crying goes on after the consequences of his actions. I have no sympathy for parents who wana blame police after there are consequences. Should have been more worried about why her son was asleep, likely high behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle with a gun. Just sad adults cant see the tragedy of not accepting responsibility for their own kids.

Parents are liable in civil court when their underage kids do harm. Every officer involved needs to sue the mother (and father, but he probably isn't around). Ask for damages so high that if she does get the inevitable settlement from weak elected officials, of tax dollars, of course, she loses it all to the cops since her son was a thief and a kidnapper.

He needed time to think about what he was doing. He needed time for someone to talk some sense into him. He was so startled he could not think, he had a long night of breaking into cars. These young black males do not realize behind the wheel of a car COP do an instant license check. Im surprised you made that statement in your first sentence. He was on the road until the officer shot him in the back then the car crashed into someone home. He needed some more time to process his situation to know that he had to give up. The cop that ended up in the backseat was told not go in the car, is what you have to worry about they do not follow instruction: to hot headed. Once he was in the car he was just as panicked as the teen. He was not trained enough or patient enough to tap the kid on the shoulder and say dude calm down what are you going to do kidnap me...the teen needed some help to think he would have stopped once he processed it. Even dumb criminals eventually get it. They don't use the term DUMB KID for nothing.

My son was speeding away so quickly because all he wanted to do was return the vehicle to the rightful owner. That gun in the car wasn't his. He found it and was going to turn it into the police when he woke up. @@acc8004 You're right. They should have told him to stop at least 17 more times. The first ten times isn't nearly enough. I think police protocol is you have to ask the criminal to refrain from illegal activity 25 times before you can do anything about it. Or maybe they should have let him grab the gun before they shot. I mean come on, at least give the kid a chance to pop off a round. What was that officer thinking.

He was a good kid, he did nothing wrong! Now let's "protest" and cause millions in damages and multiple unalivings! Tired of large swathes of this country handling armed criminals with kid gloves. Plenty of people come from tough upbringings and don't live a life harming and threatening other people. There's no excuse for this type of behavior.

Its insane how many Americans there are in comments justifying this. I am from Finland and here police never use firearms. And we have lower criminal rate. This applies to several other countries too. This police officer could have pulled up handbrake or maybe hold him by neck from behind forcing him to hit breaks. Shooting is not the best option and its insane how much you justify it in America because he is criminal. He is human too and ended up on that path because something happened. Get to people like that mental health help, not bullets.
@andysemi382
@andysemi382 Жыл бұрын
The population of Finland is also a small fraction compared to the Untied States. Smaller population usually makes it easier to not only control the criminal population but also fund police training, teaching kids properly and having lower poverty levels. All of which I believe Finland is able to do for itself. You are comparing an apple to a water melon. Also don't think that this doesn't make Americans sad, it 100% makes us sad that we can't get along because we are all humans. There is just a lot of hate that is going around and it's the leading problem of all this chaos.

@@andysemi382 I understand more people = more crime but I mean as a percentage. In Europe murder rate per 100 000 capita is 1.71 while in USA its 5.9. And there is about as much people in Europe than USA if we don't include Russia. Thats huge difference and its easy to point fingers at the criminals but problem is typically in other things of society. We as Europeans really wonder when will people in USA understand that police using weapons means criminals have to aswell. If police tried using other methods maybe criminals won't have to rely on carrying a weapon because their life is not threatened. It makes huge difference when you are scared for your life vs scared to go to prison. Being scared for your life makes you do literally anything. Even as stupid as shooting a police.
@andysemi382
@andysemi382 Жыл бұрын
@@ilykere313 Unfortunately that is how it is here. Even with strict gun laws criminals still get guns. Example would be New York, strict gun laws but still an extremely high crime rate. You are also right on the other factors of society as well. People here should be taught better.
@ilykere313
@ilykere313 Жыл бұрын
@@andysemi382 Yeah it must more complicated than just ban weapons and no more crime. I know some in Europe think that way but its not that simple. Its a long process but I think change has to come from the law enforcement giving an example instead of fighting fire with fire. Then maybe in tens of years the direction may change slowly so that criminals can do crimes without weapons. Because criminals and crime will always exist. Its matter of how you protect it from civilians that matter the most.
