Thank you for your question. Air traffic control directs a given crew to a given set of instructions that are readback to ATC and implemented by the crew. Whoever is the pilot flying, sets the altitude and/or speed, points and calls what is set. The other pilot then verifies what is set. I hope nimejibu swali. If not, clarify as well. Asante.

good work here. two questions: 1. how do planes with no radar avoid collisions? 2. is morse code a 'must know' for all pilots?
@CallsignBookworm
@CallsignBookworm Жыл бұрын
Aircraft without the traffic collusion and avoidance system(TCAS) rely on air traffic control, visual look outs, radio communication, right of way rules and flight planning to avoid traffic. As for morse code, you need to know the basics and decode as appropriate. No need to cram all the letters except, S and O. S ... O --- Just in case you need to send or decode an SOS (help). Thank you for your question. Much appreciated.

@@CallsignBookworm I have a question for you if you permit me to ask. Where I reside happens to be along the flight path to (15km to the airport) sometimes i hear airplanes sound like a huge truck stepping on its break with bad break pad/disc having a grinding sound. My question is what causes that sound while flying?
@CallsignBookworm
@CallsignBookworm Жыл бұрын
While flying, the cabin is normally quite silent designed to about 60 decibels that's similar to normal conversation. We dont really hear any loud sounds but I presume the screeching sound intensity and position is caused be the air density, temperature, compression of the exhaust air from the engines.

@@CallsignBookwormawesome. I find the winds in Xplane very strong even 5kts veers my plane to the side idk why 😂 when I use rudder I tend to over correct and have to do missed approach. This is like 10x more harder when flying the zibo mod 😅 so 50ft is just good to hear

Also I watched a video of Captain Paul Mwangi flying to Amsterdam. The video is long and there is a time the pilots were talking with the cameraman in the cockpit. I noticed that there were too many radio calls but no one seemed to pay attention. The captain was talking with the cameraman while multiple radio calls from multiple people were being made. Also it did not seem like the first officer was listening to the calls. How do you determine the radio call to listen to? Also is it true that pilots in one plane can talk with pilots in another plane and does it happen?
@CallsignBookworm
@CallsignBookworm Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your great question. When landing we look outside and inside if we have the runway insight. If no contact, the pilot flying focusses on flying while looking at the screens while the pilot monitoring, looks outside. Thank you and much appreciated.
@CallsignBookworm
@CallsignBookworm Жыл бұрын
We always keep a listening watch on a given radio frequency and with time your brain adapts to the point where you can have a convo and still listen in on radio transmissions. About talking to other pilots in another plane, yes you can. You just elect a give unique frequency, tune and transmit.
