Hello everyone, how do you do.
A week ago, saw several Go-atopnds In Hong Kong due to WINDSHEAR as a result of a passing typhoon. I thought It a good Idea to show you the oresentation on the B747.
In this clip, I show you two different windshear recovery methods on the B747. The first part is recovery in response to REACTIVE WINDSHEAR- this means the aircraft just enters a WINDSHEAR zone without prior warning on approach. Pilots are always aware of the signs of possible WINDSHEAR if there are thunderstorms in the area close to an airport for approach and departure. Sudden wind change/unusually high thrust on approach just to hold the Glideslope or thrust at idle while speed continues to increase on approach are good examples. The second part is of the Predictive WINDSHEAR recovery where the system alerts of possible WINDSHEAR ahead of the aircraft. For predictive WINDSHEAR, the recovery is usually a normal go around and avoiding the indicated windshear area on the map display. Have a watch and I hope you like it…’Chi Di Gin! Later!✈️✈️✈️
