Honestly, I expected the fish human to be some sort of monster, trying to lure other beings in with the little girl appearance to eat them, but it finally made a friend. This is a nice, wholesome comic

I don't think original is the right word. Goblins act like how you expect goblins to act, Harpies like harpies and so on and so forth. But the execution is what makes it so great! Even if you've seen "Gremlin Kobold" done many many times before the arguement in moss collector is still so fun to read because it's dripping with personality, you can tell their history and relationship with just this one conversation.

A triton is the closes thing but they live in salt water ask the dm to reskin it a bit.We olso have grung(frog people)and lizard folk that live in swamp but they are a bit too monstruous

I know this is late... But I love this: You walk through the swamps, you didn't like it, the muck would get under your armor and you always felt constrained to the ground. You tried your best to avoid people of the Villages, tribes and clans, the last thing you needed to do was alter any development this planet was going to experience. Your target was a man posing as a knight for a guild, find him and terminate him... plain and simple right? Night time fell before you knew it and you groaned as you realized how hard it was gonna be navigating the swamps, your Sonar map could let you know when you were about to hit a wall or if an enemy is behind it, not if your were gonna step in muck... or God forbid something even worse. You grab a glowstick and break it to activate it and begin to shake it so it glows nice and bright, you then placed it on a hook that stuck out of your shoulder's armor plating for such a convenience. It wasn't until you heard a "Wooooahhhh" that you stopped and aimed your rifle at something... it was a kid? Albeit a weird looking one but you've seen much weirder much earlier in your career, the kid ducked down and was scared, you lowered your rifle and began to converse with the little gremlin (That wasn't a jab at the kid's species, you just don't do well around children). "Uh...Sorry, I wasn't trying to scare you or anything." Kid said as she ducked her head down further into the reeds. You explained "It's ok... I'm not gonna hurt anyone, just caught me off guard is all." as you looked around, scanning the area. The kid continued to keep her head down but spoke "Are you...A Human?" as she still stared at the glow stick. "Yeah, I am (unfortunately) what're you...Swamp thing's kid?" you said in a joking manner, of course you weren't sure if you hurt the kid's feeling. It didn't help that the kid remained silent in response. You tried apologizing with "Uh, sorry...Wasn't trying to hurt your feelings...or anything..." but the kid still remained quiet. You then notice her eyes were fixated on your shoulder, you turned your head in assumption that someone was sneaking up behind you, but your paranoia proved ridiculous as you noticed no one was there. You then look down to see the glow stick, the kid was staring at it like a moth to a flame, you take it off the hook on you shoulder and hold it to the child as you asked "You like this thing?" The kid nodded, you then knelt down and held it closer to her, of course she retracted a little but you held the luminescent toy in an open palmed hand and asked the kid "Want it? I got a pocket full of this stuff and I already have 3 other flashlights and crap to work with." The kid slowly reach her hand out... and once she touched the glowstick, she swiped it from your hand out of fear of it being some sort of trap. You chuckle and stand as you go through your pockets and pull out three more, you then leave it on the ground and say "Relax, you can have these guys too if you want, Just snap it like a twig and when it bends back straight, shake it really hard..." you then begin to walk away, but the kid finally says something again as she questioned "Why are you being so nice to me?" confusing you. You then turn to her and explained "You're a kid, why wouldn't I be?" the kid then looked down a little as they said "My mom says I'm not allowed to talk to Humans... she says you guys are dangerous." to which you chuckled and confirmed "She ain't wrong, but the guys I work for are different from most Humans around here...they like to help everyone. Just be careful when talking to strangers, number one life rule." You then attempt to leave again, but after thinking for a bit, the kid blurts out a question. "Would you like to meet a friend of mine?" as you turn back to them. "Sure...they're taller than 5 inches and aren't made of twigs and mud... are they?" You asked with a semi-joking tone. "No, she's really tall and really nice! You'd like her! She gave me that thing." She says as she points to an already out Lantern. You were confused at first but the kid stammered an explanation of "I... let it fall into the bog and...the fire got put out..." the kid said with a sad expression. You then approach it and notice it has oil still, all it needs is a spark, you grabbed the lighter you kept in your back pocket and lit it as you said "There, that should do it." the kid was ASTONISHED, assuming you were some sort of wizard. But before the kid could ask any questions, you informed them "I gotta get going, but if I'll stop by later and stick around to meet your friend, she sounds cool." You leave and wave the child goodbye. ...but it was FAR from the last time you ran into her.
