Really enjoying this series. Being new to DCS it’s tough to know where to begin learning it all. Seeing systems used in context helps so much with your other tutorials and the manual. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos! Take care

Love your videos, man. I'm getting back into DCS after like a year, just got the Weasels campaign on sale and your channel has been great help in recalling how to operate the F-16.

I love these videos, the only thing I'm wondering is, I remember reading the landing pattern for the F-16 and in that I remember seeing that you were supposed to land with the speed brakes out for a higher descent rate and being able to go around by just retracting them and adding a little power.

I'm not an ex-F-16 Pilot, so I don't know about real life. I can only speak to what I saw while I was a Crew Chief. In real life, I observed both. Speed brakes being used on final approach all the way till wheels down, and I also saw many landings without speed brakes used at all until wheels down. In my experience in DCS, it's been 'per scenario' for me. Sometimes, I use the Speed Brakes all the way through final approach and landing (Especially if I'm really heavy). Other times, I don't. I would say the majority of the time, I don't bother using them until I'm on the ground. Some air fields like Nellis, I sometimes don't deploy them at all, even after wheels down because I have plenty of runway. Again, it is 'per scenario' in DCS, in my personal opinion.

Reciprocals are easy. Use the +2/-2 or -2/+2 rule to change the first two digits. Example: reciprocal of 306. The result for the first digit has to be between 0 and 3. Right? So, +2 won't work, 3+2=5, so we use -2/+2: 3-2=1 and 0+2=2 for 12 add the third digit, 6. for the answer 126. It's easy once you figure out how to decide which rule to use and learn a few that cause confusion. You'll learn to just add or subtract 180 for the ones where the rule causes confusion like 019. 019+180=199. Practice a little and you'll understand.

Well, put it a tad more mathematical. Either add 200 and subtract -20 or subtract 200 and 20. Always being + or - 180
@regprewitt76379 ай бұрын
@@shazam-253 That works just as well. "+2/-2 or -2/+2" was a short name that seemed to stick with most of our students just like it had for me way back when. Having many different ways of explaining things is one of the most important skills for an IP.

First time i comment one of your videos but you've been a massive help for me. Thanks so much and well done! On another note, do you have any radio sound effects? They sound very realistic.

Thank you. This is such a great and helpful series but also perfect timing! Can I ask please, are you using reshade?

Yes, I use Reshade.

Do you happen to have your trackir profile listed on any of your videos? Your head movement looks very smooth and I wonder what your curves in TrackIR look like. Great video as always!
@BogeyDope8 ай бұрын
If I need really smooth movement, I press F7, and TrackIR smooths everything for me. I don't have a trackIR video, but I've had enough questions like yours about it, that I think I may need to make one.
