Thank you for this video. My mother, who was born in Poland, used to make them regularly... Now I will try making them myself, because you have shown me it is not very complicated!

My great grandmother always told me I was Bohemian and not Czech. I love the food and the culture.

Actualy Bohemian can be Czech or German living in Bohemia, its conected to the land. Czech or German is more conected with ethnicity, but Czechs and Germans/Austrians are so mixed in Bohemia, that pure ethnical Czech or German doesn´t exist here. 🙂

@@davidpelc My family lore is that my great grandparents emigrated to the US from what was then called Bohemia because they were escaping the Austrian Kaiser's forced induction into the military.

dumplings are there to absorb sauce and inherit the flavor from the sauce

The First time i saw this, they reminded me of Chinese dumplings called "mantou" lol or the German equivalent called "Dampfnudeln". The German ones are normally eaten sweet. I prefer potatoe dumplings more tbh or bread dumplings Like Servietten/semmelknödel

Why is the German telling us about Czech Knedlicky
@10jpmorgan Жыл бұрын
Yeah, after a few words, I thought, "Wait a minute! That's not the Czech language, that's German!" Doesn't mean a German chef can't make Czech knedlicky, of course!

it would be good if some of the German speech from one of the chefs has sub-titles.
