If I hadn't seen the movie this rendition wouldn't have mattered to me, except that it's a gay mens' chorus. Moving to see such a large chorus perform with a fine solist, organ and piano. Congratulations!

kayper54 - when we lost Freddie, we lost a great artist. So what if he was gay. So are Sir Ian McKellan, Elton John, and Neil Patrick Harris. And lord knows how many other talented artists. Saddest of all that Freddie died of AIDS. Aids has taken too many people from our world. I feel blessed that in my almost 50 years of living as a gay man, I have only lost 1 friend to AIDS. Craig, u beautiful man, RIP.

Freddie claimed he had been working on three songs and decided to put them together. Perhaps. Some people claim this was Freddie's coming out song. We will never know for sure. What we do know is that this master piece is true genius. Freddie knew where every note was to be played before he entered the recording studio For that we can be eternally grateful. Love you Freddie!

Wow, you guys are absolutely fabulous!!!! That soloist is just phenomenally gifted!!! Freddy's voice was internationally acclaimed, in that his vocal ranges were so wide and strong. This song, in particular, showcased this and has been written about by many authorities in the field. To be able to keep up with Freddy in this song, takes an incredible natural gift and talent. Freddy was, indeed, smiling down when the GMCLA did this. Whoever that soloist is, please shake his hand for me and......hang on to him!!! He's got GAME!!!!

+easternacademy - Thanks! Gotta confess, as I put it all together, it was tough to identify the cameras capturing singers with the melody. During this performance, the church roof started leaking from the rainstorm outside, so camera positions were limited. Hugely proud of how it turned out. the most tenors I’ve ever seen in an all men choir omg
@jimroman6 жыл бұрын
One of the joys of working in a city where Entertainment is the largest industry: GMCLA has the opportunity to select from a remarkable collection of very strong performers. As a result, the chorus is actually divided into _eight_ parts, with half the chorus comprised of tenors. Our tenors come in four flavors! There are low First Tenors singing different notes from High Second Tenors. D.J. Pick, the soloist in this video is a High First Tenor.

KUDOS to the organist, not an easy job accompanying the choir FROM THE OTHER END OF THE CHURCH, (a very large church, I might add). Excellent!

Thank you for noticing! Organist John West had to anticipate a full second ahead of the singers to accommodate the lag time between his keyboard and the pipes all over that enormous church.
