Can we mention how close the battle was? Not seconds, but fractions of a second! At literally the last second (~20:31) we see the enemy dive bombers drop the bombs on the Kremlin on 2k HP, but we don't see the bomb splashes. That drop would likely kill the Kremlin, and give the red guys enough points to overtake eagle_941's team and win. That mean that the bombs were in flight, when the game was won on points!

I had a match the other day (at tier IV though, as I am a noob) where I shot and killed the last enemy CV maybe a half second before his bombs hit and killed me. XD * I don't want to shine a light on me, but that was a most cinematic end. Thank you Gnome Lord for guiding me to this glorious game. :D * (I was at maybe 50hp in a BB at that time. I was all cocky when I took up the chase, because due to watching Gnome Lord videos aplenty, I was convinced of my BB-Captain-WASD-hacks. Boy was I wrong. ^^ )

I once asked a carrier to move, there was a nice Island very close to his spawn that he could have just scooted over and been a bit closer to the action as well as visually covered from a large part of the map. "I don't need to move." Lo and behold, 4 minutes later he eats 5 Shimakaze torps because he was briefly spotted (but not attacked by) the enemy carrier, and the Shima just did what Shimas do and dropped a whole load of torpedoes in his direction. "And that is why you move into cover, CV." "You should have killed the Shima." "You should have spotted the Shima then...shouldn't you?" "......" Ah, WoWS players will never change.

In my case, I get reported for: 1) Demolishing island whoring woosters and DM camping behind islands even though the islands ensure their long range aa is meaningless. 2) Not suiciding all my available planes for a dd protected by 4 aa cruisers. 3) Not protecting a flank that was getting buttfucked by the enemy force 3 times their size simply because my planes would practically get demolished in seconds the moment I entered that group bubble. 4) Getting deplaned despite following armchair generals 5) Being A CV player 6) Not spotting or attacking high tier swedish DDs at the start of the match because I dont want to already lose a whole squad for little gains. And no spotting is fucking useless when the fighters also melt under their AA The list goes on...... I love how the community bitched to WG to nerf CVs to the ground yet these same people expect them to be the omnipresent terror their ptsd tells them when it is favorable for them, also fuck the CCs encouraging the growth of such hatred to the class. I mean it is one thing to provide constructive criticism regarding the class being unfair at times, and balance being inconsistent between cvs and other classes but what I feel that is not addressed is the CV side of an encounter where the class can legitimately struggle if the enemy does coordinate. An enemy team that coordinates will leave the cv quite weak to impact the game initially, making it potentially difficult late game if the allied team gets stomped to carry since the AA bubbles will still be present. In general this class has its issue by virtue of execution however if perhaps instead of bitching about the cvs are op in situations where you can easily avoid getting molested, learn to counteract them. I had played against many dd players that know how to make themselves hard to be taken out at the start and may remain like this for half of the match. If you want a class that cant punish you for overextending, then the -35 ping class of cv is the best for it Rant over

@@HuMaNise34 I appreciate the rant, and agree wholeheartedly, except I have to make this point: I've been in battles where Lexington aircraft were nigh fucking invincible, and no matter how much AA you throw at them, unless it were a dedicated AA cruiser like the Atlanta, they still got through and dropped their ordinance on the mark. And then there's the fact that you cannot set their decks on fire anymore, because reasons. Regardless of how you look at it, the CV rework did more harm than good, and even a player without an inkling of what he's doing could still farm hundreds of thousands of damage points on the enemy team. This is not me hating on CVs for the sake of hating on CVs, this is me deconstructing just how badly the CV rework was executed.

Here's my take on what happened with the Shimakaze at 3:30; With the cap secured, and seeing it not being contested, he starts moving (you can see him engage the engines as soon as B is captured) to start launching torpedoes, and then got caught by surprise by the Midway's aircraft. True, he could have seen them on the minimap, but I would think he's trying to aim at the Kremlin that he just spotted. Just my 2 cents opinion as a sometimes DD player, just some bad timing.

Fun fact: the _Yamato_ herself ended up in the exact same position as that Kremlin during the Battle of Samar. USS _Heermann_ fired a spread of torpedoes at her, which forced _Yamato_ to turn away from the American ships. However, the torpedoes were only a few knots faster than _Yamato_ was, so she had to spend ten minutes steaming north away from the fight with torpedoes on either side of her, waiting for them to run out of fuel.

The Smolensk's biggest mistakes were the way that he ate 2 torps. the first from hanging around a smoke area next to the cap for too long, the second from sailing in a straight line after getting spotted by a DD.

What the Smolensk did was kept the Zao's from seeing the Destroyer that was capping and kept him alive. It was a matter of HP which one had more it wasn't the Smolensk the DD had more and is a stealthier ship also so it was a tactical decision he made his life for the DD.

Umm, jingles? Pretty sure the shimakaze left the smoke because it was in open water and the smoke was about to expire, with the distinct threat of enemy destroyers and aircraft getting too close. Pretty sure you normally tell people off for staying in their smoke until it expires and suddenly having no exit strategy.

The difference between regular players and really great players, I've found, is that great players keep fighting as if they have a chance up until the timer hits 0, they never give up even if the game seems lost. That mindset can lead to some pretty spectacular upsets
