This was a very difficult video for us to post. There were a few times when we almost backed out due to the fact that it shows a very personal side of our lives and families, also it's just really heavy video for us. In the end we saw there was a lot of depth to some of the things we learned so we feel like there might be some value to others in sharing them.

This was some next-level vlogging. Really gorgeous and meaningful. Our youth-obsessed culture really does need to slow down and reevaluate how much time we spend and how much we appreciate our elders - before they're gone. Thank you for sharing!

I'm crying right now, because I know exactly how you feel. I have the same story as you. my grandma lives in the ukraine too and I haven't seen her for almost 10 years. since we emigrated, I haven't seen ukraine again. I want to see my parents house, but it's probably destroyed. I have the same questions like: what if we stayed? what job would i have? what if this and that happend?...But at the end I'm thankful for all that stuff that happend to me. It sounds a little bit weird, but it gives me power when I feel bad. I think of my parents decisions and about how only one choice can change your whole life. because your decisions today define your tomorrow😊 thank you for this beautiful scenes😘

awe so much love to you Elli! Being away from your family is really difficult and once you return back to your roots it really makes you realize how one decision that your parents made can change your entire life and the future of your life. Its a really amazing thing to realize and also just makes you feel so humble inside. Hope you get a chance to visit your roots again, its a wonderful experience!

All these places in Kyiv and Lviv reminded me about where I am from. I am from Odesa area and I immigrated to Canada 4 years ago. I was at home 3 years ago and I really feel like I want to see my relatives back home. Thank you for sharing.

I am usually not one that posts comments on every occasion. But I want to say at least some words of encouragement; Your appearance makes you look like you live a perfect life, chasing butterflies and eating coconuts... But there are two beautiful souls who care about the world so deeply that they cannot make one more decision which is not in tune with their ideals. Your level of authenticity gives me hope. Hope, that in this crazy world eventually everything will make sense. Thank you for displaying your inner wisdom out there. I am so enjoying your meditation series, I cannot stress that enough...Please make more, I am so curious with what you guys come up next! Lots of love

@sara ben It's a very big mistake to make judgement only by knowledge obtained via media or negative experience of several persons and carry it over on whole nation and create simply a false stigma. Stigma is a very good framework to make a complete opinion on a world. But problem is that our world isn't simple and homogenous and is not necessary that one person's kinds inherited by all nation (it' not absolutely addressed to the tutor of this yoga course). Ukrainians are honest, sincere and very courage persons. How do you think sara will you endure the aggression of big totalitarian state, rural by its level of economic development, truly by its nature very manipulative and leading in faking the soul thing as you have said, without help or support of other developed countries?

Peace.

Every month that goes by now makes me truly see how short and precious life is. I am in my 50's and have two children who are no longer children. One is 19, the other 17. When they were babies and young children, nobody prepared me for how fast those years would fly by. Those were the best years of my life. During those years, you thought they would stay like that forever. Now we are all aging at a rapid rate. I so admire you for what you are doing with your lives. I love this channel so much and I'm so happy that you went back to see your families. It's all that matters. ❤️🙏

I normally do the yoga and Pilates videos you post and I'm in love... watched this since the videos I do normally watch are so beautiful and you did not disappoint, what a mind provoking video. The way you both speak is so beautiful, kind, full of positivity and love... I've recently got myself into a bit of a rut but you're so right, there's so much more I could be doing whether it's big or small I need to think whether it's making me happy and it's not.... thank you both so much for putting the trivial things into perspective because sometimes you just need that little nudge, that little reminder to remember you've only got one life, live it the best you can because one day you'll be filled with regret wishing you did things differently. thank you, sending you all my love from England. safe travels you wonderful people xxxx

Tears streaming down my face- thank you for beautiful video experience reminding me of the love for family and extended family still in Ukraine. My grandparents, who also raised me, narrowly escaped at the close of WW2 from western Ukraine. I visited a decade post Chernobyl from Kiev to Halych and Lviv and Bolexib and Berezhany. Ukraine’s fairytale natural beauty is deep in the heart of us and the peoples’ caring & giving householder hospitality is second to none. I pray daily for the invasion to end and peace to lift resentment and surround Ukraine and our one dear planet with love. May you and you’re growing family be blessed!

Thank you for posting this video! My father passed away a little over a year ago, my mother is now has terminal cancer, and my father-in-law has brain cancer as well so I've had to learn very quickly to cherish what little time we have with our loved ones. The immense pain you feel when you lose someone is so crushing but they'll always be there with you in your memories. It looks like your grandmother lived a rich, full, and long life. I'm sure she is so happy that you and the rest of your family are surrounding her with love during this difficult time. One thing that has helped me through this trying time is your videos. They keep me centered and focused on what's important and allow me to let go of some emotion and energy. Thank you so much for that :) much love and light to you, Mark, your grandmother, and your family

I've been to Ukraine once. I stayed in Kiev for a month and that was back in 2013. I also took a day trip to Lviv and absolutely loved it! Although it's been almost 5 years, I still remember the warmth and kindness of Ukrainian people so clearly. With such chaos going on in the country, it amazes me how they can still stay so sweet, kind and caring. I guess same goes with you, Julianna! I am positively impressed by your optimism and openness about life. I can feel that every time I watch your videos through the screen. No wonder you bond with animals so well and they love you back without any hint of reluctance or pretention (: You have a unique beauty that shines through your attitude and words and it watching you makes me happy. As one of your subscribers, I'm so proud of everything that you've made possible so far and I hope you keep going and be happy and at peace as always

What a beautiful and precious moment I had watching this video. Thank you so much for sharing. It's amazing how we are all connected in this planet. Our roots, where we come from, are part of who we are, and then the experiences we live that build us, adding new parts to our being. This video touched me deeply because you guys shared two places where I lived so many happy years in Україна. My roots are in Portugal and my husband and I lived in Київ for 5 years and went to Lviv often. We have very dear friends in both places. I loved the images of Kiev, that showed the area where we lived, just opposite the botanical garden and behind Володимирський собор, very close to Shevchenko Park. I have a profound love for Ukraine and its people. It's amazing to see you both honouring your roots, family, and the way you expand your gifts and live your dreams is quite inspiring. Дякую, спасибі 🥰

I'm sitting here literally in tears and really aligned with all you share.. not long ago i saw my brother for the last time here, and just a week ago my young 22 year old nephew, and a few years ago my mother, and my father..... life is so precious. It's so important to be in that moment and really appreciate it

Thank you so much for your sweet message. I just want to mention again how grateful I am for this channel. It literally is helping me continue to heal... I've been through single parenthood, a life threatening ailment (that I healed from thank Gd) and had people (including teachers, doctors, clergy people) who tried to extinguish my inspiration to live life holistically through yoga, meditation, eating live (plant) foods (not animals ) and I was even laughed at about the way I lived my life (growing my own sprouts etc, influencing my children to live this way) and with your inspiration and reminders to be aware of how we can change the world through the lifestyle and mindfulness we live, by I now take an even stronger stand in what I believe in and feel much gratitude to have you and all the like minded people here as a support system... we have to stick together in this journey. Sending love & gratitude

I’m not Ukrainian but because of war me and a couple of my friends had to leave our home really unexpectedly just because it no longer promises any future for us. Had no idea about your past but now I understand everything you said in this video so well, literally I cried at some point.

Hi! I've been watching your channel for so long and following your adventures, guys, but it's the first time I'm leaving the comment because this video moved me so much... I am Ukrainian and I left home 8 month ago to move to France, so I haven't seen my family for quite a long time and probably not gonna seen them for a while. This video just made me so emotional. I miss Ukraine, I miss Kyiv and Lviv, I miss my parents and friends, so thank you for taking me back there for these 15 minutes. Спасибо, спасибо, спасибо ❤️

Thank you for sharing your life experiences so tenderly. All of your childhood memories, family bonds, dedicated love for animals and beauty in the simple things in life. Your heartfelt visits with your grandmother resonates, as our grandparents are often so prevalent in our upbringing and those who leave us first. Such a special bond I hold so dearly, as do you. Forever in our hearts and deep within the grit of us. Your family burial tree hit home, especially at this time, as I just laid my baby girl, my lil champ, Poobear (Am Eski/Pom) to rest. I am a bit lost without her by my side, but shall forever be grateful for her presence in my life and the deep soulmate connection we shared. We too have a burial garden under a lovely Hemlock tree, which we found and planted with Poobear by our side. Love is love!!!!! Peace and love to you on your beautiful journey, Lauren

of all the videos i could watch i went for this one without knowing what was expecting, a whole reflection onto life and its events, like death, and its unpredictability. This was probably a kind of sign, as just a few days ago a 23 yrs old boy died in an avalanche near my town, i didn't know him directly but this hit me so hard for some reason that i keep tearing up thinking of the randomness and craziness of what happened. This video seemed to be given to me exactly when i need it, to make me gain some perspective and acceptance from its real words and shared struggle, and to make me think about the sentence LIFE IS TOO SHORT, INDEED. We better make the most of it while we can. Take care you all, Thank you Juliana and Mark.

I just found you two because of a Yoga search, but you're both so much more than that! I turn 60 this year and I've had a lifetime of travel and adventure around the world. Your youth resinates with me and I'm so happy to see that you are still together making this important content! Thank you... beautiful Souls! Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” Mark Twain. Namaste

Thank you for that wonderful journey. I was so riveted because I was born and raised in Toronto and had Great Grandparents who escaped from Ukraine many many years ago during the war. My BaBa would tell me stories when I was a little girl and tear up taking about the family she left behind. I look forward to one day visiting a place of my heritage, a place that is a part of me how ever small.

Boho Beautiful I've never seen such depth and soul in someone so young here on KZbin. You see what people let you See in their lives through editing and filming. And only showing the pretty or happy sides of things. You showed it all and you had such a deep appreciation of all things you grew up with or around. You have an old soul and there's not much of that in this world anymore... Especially the younger generations. It's our children that will be affected the most by our everyday decisions. And you understand the saying "if not me, then who". If everyone was of the same mindset of "every single sole person and their individual choices matter in the whole of everything". I think so many people think " I'm just one person, what change can I really create? " and they don't understand that if a million people have that same mindset then things will never change.. You And Mark are out here truly living, and truly trying to encourage change. Thank you, from Me, from the earth, from the animals, from God. Thank you. And yes, you look so much like her in the picture on the wall.
