It’s very important that throughout our life we always find a way to challenge ourselves. Whether that is our body, our mind or both. Starting a juice cleanse was my first challenge of this year and wow was it an intense journey. It first started as a 3 Day Juice Cleanse and then as day 3 arrived I really felt amazing results, so I kept going and made my 3 day Cleanse to a 7 day Raw Juice Cleanse.
JUICE RECIPES
THE GREEN SUNRISE
This juice is a great way to start your morning off. It's a heavy vegetable juice with a ton of dense nutrients and a great flavour to help push your body to realize that even with out solid food it can still get all that it needs.
Broccoli- 1/2 a stock of broccoli (stem and all)
Spinach- 1/2 a bunch of spinach
Passion Fruit- Entire fruit (no skin!)
Lemon- 1/2 lemon (rinds and seeds)
Cuccumber- 1/2 to 3/4 cucumber
Add ice to make it come alive.
THE GREEN BULLET
This juice was awesome. I had it everyday at 11am as a natural sugar life (the pinnacle) and internal reboot (the cayenne).
Kale - 1/2 a bunch
Ginger- a little chunk
Lemon - 1/2 lemon including seeds and rind
Pineapple - 1/4 to 1/2 a pineapple
Cucumber- 1/2 to 3/4 of cucumber
Top and stir in 1 table spoon of Cayenne Pepper
Add ice to really make it refresh.
TUMMERIC FOR DAYS
The main purpose of this juice is the turmeric. Its great for so many reasons (google it!) but I love it for my back as an anti inflammatory. This juice was nice in the afternoon and always seemed to hit the spot.
Orange- 1 oranges
Lemon- 1/2 lemon
Spinach- 1/4 bunch
Carrot- 2 decent sized carrots
Watermelon- 3 big slices
Turmeric- As much as I could put in without killing the flavour completely
Fresh Black Pepper- Top the finished juice with a half table spoon of black pepper to supercharge and activate the turmeric.
Finish with ice cubes to cool it down and make it really enjoyable.
LIQUID V8
This was one of the staple dinner juices I worked at getting better and better. The key was experimenting to flavours I would like and trying different combinations of nutrient heavy vegetables. It would usually be the last juice of the day and let my body know once again that it can feel full, nourished, and receive more than it needs in liquid form.
Tomato- 1 full tomato
Broccoli- 1/2 a stock of broccoli (stock included)
Sweet Pepper- Entire pepper (green, red, or yellow)
Spinach - 1/2 a bunch
Celery- 2 stalks of celery
Carrot- 2 decent size carrots
Beet- 3/4 beet

Perfect timing. I started a juice fast yesterday:) about a year ago I did a 64 day juice fast and healed an autoimmune disorder.

Hi Mark and Juliana! I am on day five of my juice cleanse. I decided to try a five day cleanse after watching your video a few months ago. When watching you (Mark) talk about your experience with the cleanse I felt so inspired to try it out. I grew up thinking that not eating for two days would kill you. I have had such a brilliant time on my cleanse. I discovered so much about my habits and my emotional connection to eating. Today, on day 5 of my cleanse, I rewatched your video and I connected with it even more. You both have changed my life so much with your exercise videos and blogs. Thank you thank you thank you!!

@@kileyw8520 Yeah, it is in these times of year the month we called Ramadan. It is the 9th month of lunar year. According to hijri calendar. We don't eat or drink anything from down to sunset. It has great benefits for body and soul. Because islamic fasting doesn't only include eating or drinking. It also include every bad behaviours. It also include some kind of actions like kissing or sexual intercourse to test and increase our self control. We are free after sunset, in the evening(mahgrib) prayer time. We also have a charity duty in our religion, it is after the Ramadan. The islamic fasting is primarily for understand and gain ability to emphasize people who cant afford food or water. Secondarily being able to get against of our desires and be thankful to our creator. I am not very religious or pious person but when I see the things we do it for religion are newly understood or proven as good for health or the world, it gets me chills. Whatever you believe, you should try fasting. Your soul will feel the lightnes of staying away from some bad behaviours and testing your inner strength. I know all muslims cant be tolerant, but it is as in every other belief. If you want to try anything you can freely ask me. Even if I don't know enough, I can research and try my best to help. Love you all.

Alot of mislims I know just change from eating during the day to stuffing up at night and big meals just before dawn I think the kind of fasting being discussed here is taking out alot of the biryanis, cakes, pilaus etc. More about "clean" eating

Normally I go 8 hours without food at work which first makes me feel like I’m starving for a second but after that little speed bump the amount of energy you have is incredible! Peace love and greens ( vegan )

Glad you saw so many benefits from your cleanse! Wrapping up a little 36-hour water fast tomorrow morning myself. Longest I've ever water fasted, so I'm pretty pleased :) Did experience some minor, fleeting nausea, and minor headache. Nothing debilitating. Praying for you both, Jesus loves you!

Jordan Storz water fast is next on the list. Other than the minor difficulties how did the end results feel? We had crazy headaches on this juice but figure it’s from caffeine withdrawals. Love and light to you... ☮️❤️

I was actually most impressed by how neutral I felt, both physically and mentally. Part of me thought that after I broke the fast, the "hunger fire" would start and I would overeat to compensate. That didn't happen at all. I had a perfectly normal day of eating after breaking my fast (so did my husband, who did it with me). Physically, I didn't feel depleted. I felt normal. I expected to feel a little faint, at least, but that wasn't the case. In all fairness, we did have some saltwater with spices midway through the fast (kind of like a vegan broth, it was wonderful but had 0 calories), and that may have helped keep our electrolytes happy ;) All in all, we were happy we did it and might make it a semi-regular thing. It was a solid reset, and felt like a gift we could give to our bodies and minds. Thank you for the great content, and have a wonderful day!

This was so awesome! I’m so happy you shared. I did a 21 day liquid fast and it was incredible. Just like your experience the first few days where so hard and sluggish. But in the end I had a whole new understanding of myself and my surroundings. A new state of awareness appeared and everything seemed so clear! It what sent me on my spiritual journey. I am inspired again by you two and will be trying the seven day with your tasty looking juice recipes. Love and light to both of you!✨

I've been doing juicing 3 times a year. 14 day detox and after that, gently transmission through raw vegan food. I may not be normal, but i haven't had any side effects, no headaches, no tiredness, no hunger. But it's been this easy only last 3-4 years. I absolutely love my juices. I have 4 a day; my first juice contents only fruit and ginger root. Second is 3:1 fruit and vegetables, third one 3:1 vegetables and fruit and my last one is a pure veggie juice. I love them all! Presently, I'm on my 5th day. And i feel great!! And as per my workout, which i have loved doing 5 days of week, I had to look for an alternative. Slower pace. That's how I got introduced to Boho beautiful.. and I'm on my mat 5 days a week and yoga, that was never my way of working out, is now one of the most important things to me. Happy that it worked for you. But just as a reminder to many people at their teens, as he says, we should listen to our bodies. This way of eating doesn’t apply to everyone. losing weight is a necessity only if you have some extra weight. Not saying that he did a damage to himself by losing weight, but it shouldn’t be promoted as a necessity that was accomplished by the cleanse. Getting rid of acne is a probably a result of not getting any fats in this specific diet. Certain hormones like estrogen and testosterone are made in our system from cholesterol and cholesterol is taken from out diet. Without getting them enough, libido and fertility are put in danger. Eliminating poor eating habits by learning to get used to even more restrictive eating habits than veganism, is just an awkward thinking.

I'm having fruit and veggie shake twice a day for a snack! I don't have a juicer so I stick to the old shake, I put spinach, cabbage, fennel, celery, apples, bananas, pears, ginger root etc. I combine those ingredients differently every time and than add some vegetable milk or coconut water, some moringa powder, nuts and superfoods in general, than I mix and in the end I also add some vegetable protein powder. I feel wonderful! I'm also doing the ten days program for the second time now!

What perfect timing! I am on Day 1 of my "pre-juice" cleanse. I'm doing 3 days of 3 liters juice and 2 whole bananas to prep my body for a full 7 day juice cleanse. I figured this may help ease into it!

Same experience. I suffer from diverticulitis, and to treat it, I completely fast w/clear liquids for two days, then another week or so of juicing. If I time it right I start my fast on a Friday, and plan NOTHING for the weekend, and allow my body to heal...sleep a lot, and by Monday, I have so much clarity and energy it's crazy. My production at work skyrockets. I highly suggest anyone that's never juice fasted to try it. I did mostly greens, with lemon and garlic as flavorings, but any fruit veggie fast is amazing.

I have been intermittent fasting for over 1 year now and I love it. After doing the juice cleanse, you will find it easier to transition into it. At the moment I am doing 18 hours of fasting and I eat in a 6 hr window. Very practical, especially if you have a busy schedule. Good luck, I will be waiting for your next video impatiently. ♥

I'm always trying to improve myself physically and mentally. Currently researching fasting! Which you did mention! I think I need to invest in a juicer. I live for food, exercise, yoga and meditation, I'm so positive and spiritual but yet I am so food orientated and I think it controls me more than it should. I am so inspired by you both!

Nina Beste - Meditation & Mindfulness I recommend a vertical slow juicer for overall juicing and nutrient extraction and very little oxidation or degradation of the juice. I use a Hurom H-AA vertical slow juicer and, a Tribest Solostar 4 horizontal juicer that is very good for juicing greens and wheat grass plus making nut butters and frozen desserts such as with bananas, mangos, etc.

Most def. right girl....I'm single, kids grown, but I'm gonna do it. I've been wanting to do it for some time now. I recently started meditation & yoga to do something good for my mind and my body. I am manic depressive, have social anxiety, but these videos, and Juliana help me greatly.

Just did a 3 day juice cleanse! It was amazing! Mind over body. My favorite drink was pineappe, cucumber, green apple and mint. Day 1 was definitely the hardest. Day 2 had the most energy. Day 3, last day wasn't even that hungry. I lost 6.5 pounds in the 3 days! Crazy!

I'm doing it all the time and what is funny everyone around me consider this as a bad thing and being unhealthy so they are telling me this while they are on completely shitty diet and totally neglecting themselves ...

skylience. ♡ our modern westernized culture is truly trapped in a terrible food paradigm based around profit and mass production of incredibly unhealthy products. Insofar that when you break away it’s unbelievable to see that people stuck in it think we are the inhealthy ones. So terribly sad. But so liberating when you break free !! Love and light to you!! 😘

Oh my gosh. You’ve seriously no idea how much I love you guys! I absolutely LOVE these types of videos. When you first spoke about the juicing & how awful you felt at the beginning I was like “WOAH that’s not for me!” But then seeing you come out the other side & what it did for you? Wow, although I don’t think you “needed” to lose 7Ibs - I actually do. Although is it wise to do this when I’m breastfeeding my newborn...? Thank you for another beautiful video you two. Peace 👣✌🏽🌸

So glad u connected to the journey Kavita! And so good to hear from you again on here! We aren’t really able to answer the breastfeeding question, but when bringing food back into the body was great. It has to be done slowly and with easier to digest foods first. But with a reset pallet all the healthy food tasted wonderful and you can really feel the actual effect food has on you so u can understand your body so much more. Bad food- makes u slow and sluggish and tired and it’s so apparent when the food with life and clean nutrients and high vibration connects u to so much of the opposite. ❤️ Lots of love to u

Please do a meditation video about healing our chakras and to strengthen them. Can you tell me how can I gain flexibility like yours because when you do downward facing dog pose your leg goes way higher but my doesn't go that high how can I fix that???? I really love doing your Pilates and yoga workout they leave me feel happy and motivated for rest of the day..... Please reply my queries

Arunima Saha we will consider that meditation for sure what a wonderful idea. As for increasing flexibility... just do yoga everyday. Fall in love with your practice not because you want to achieve something but because it becomes a part of who you are and your balance and peace. Then pieces will come together as they should and you will be enamoured with the results.

Arunima, hi! Good question you ask 😁 You can become more flexible through the practice of yoga, if you practice as often as you can, like every day .😁 But, why do you have to be flexible as Julia? At first she was born already flexible like that 😁. Why I know that, because I have education and experience in anatomy, biomechanics and physiology of human body. Some people just have to be born like that and do gymnastics since toddler eage. But another question, are you looking to be healthy or just flexible? You don't have to be that flexible to be healthy and beautiful. Except if you planning to become ballerina or pro. gymnast.😁 Sorry I must decipointed you, but I prefer " bitter truth, than sweet lie ". Good luck with your practice I hope you are not going to kill your joins and ligaments over look, like this! Extrim flexibility. Please see deeper things in Yoga. So important not to shock the body. Best approach to go from cooked to raw red smoothies and finally juices over 7 to 10 days. Then herbs to support detoxification!

I started introducing food extremely slowly back in. Easy to digest soft food first... a light smoothie the first day and some fruit, then a little more each day. I think it took three days for me to get to a full plate of food for dinner. The most interesting thing though was that I transitioned into Intermittent fasting after the juice cleanse and it has been even better for me!

Hey guys!! 🤗Your body needs protein to survive. I feel like this could be very dangerous. Surfing when you are deprived of nutrients sounds even more dangerous. Without the right nutrients you can cramp. I encourage all kinds of change and realize that we all have different ways of healing our bodies and am not passing judgment just feel that others look to you both and you are both so thin already that this seems like your muscles could tear down after going into starvation mode. We do use energy to matabolize but we need nutrients. I feel like you got grounded because you were in a gorgeous space seeking peace and strength, believing for growth and cleansing of the mind not just the body. Being in the ocean is magical. As muslims we do fasting for 30 days every year but our fasting is for like 16 hr a day without any type of food or water also we should not curse or do any bad type of things.god bless u all🙏🏽🤍

Omg this is soooooo inspiring ! Your lifestyle in CR and everything. I really feel like this is so far from me right now... In my small town in Canada where im like probably the only vegetarian person in the entire town..... Your lifes looks like the ultimate goal to me. But i feel like, here, this is inaccessible. I have two job to pay the bills and everything... Fortunatly, i have time for yoga, but i guess these kind of juice purification are not reccomanded or correct to do with my lifestyle. But i feel like this is just what i need !! But how include that with the routine i have ? I could start to try it in a couple of monts in the next holidays.... I only wanted to share this with you guys, i dont want adviced or anything. Know that you really do a difference in my life. You bring me hope and light in my everyday routine. LOVE and light 💖☮☯🙏🏻🌞🌎

you can retain more nutrients from the fruits and veg with a cold press juicer. The juice tastes better too :) also lemon and apple saves any green juice

I went in to juice fasting being transition to 100% Raw. Few years being vegan almost Raw 100% And I intermittent fast everyday until afternoon evening sometimes and juiced for a few years before. there were no problems going into a juice fast I remember day6 was just like any other day. :)

Not sure how clear I was here, as I was originally replying to a post.. Room temperature lemon water with a leaf or two of fresh mint is something to incorporate into your morning routine for sure. If you're looking for more of a cleanse or to lose a few pounds, I do half 8 oz glass of my lemon/mint water at room temp. a few tablespoons organic apple cider vinegar. (raw) and don't be shy with the organic cayenne! I've been doing this for months now. it's totally routine. I've lost over ten lbs. and feel great! Find a good non-bpa leeching jug. (mine has a spout. 5 gallon) so I always have it on hand. Room temp. is the trick though, also first thing in the morning. God Bless.

I continue to travel vicariously through you both. Our 8 & 6 yr olds (Lotus & Zion) do your yoga practices with me their favorite (so far) has been your flow at the Elephant Reserve. We are a veggie family wanting to make the transition to a vegan raw diet and are slowly transitioning. My question for you both.....are you both coffee and/or caffeine free? Caffeine has never been a focus for or against but since the cleanse Mark has given it up, and I, juliana only have a cup of coffee once in a while. There are a lot of debates out there as to whether or not cleansing is good for your body. Best is to do a daily 16:8 Intermittent fast. More of a lifestyle change, not a diet and you feel completely transformed on a daily basis, not just when you do a cleanse. And no weakness or having to go overboard with fad cleanses.
