Well, I did a bit of research about that location's origins. Apparently, there are around 1700+ of them with the tallest at around 390 feet. They were formed from a gigantic coral reef perhaps 100,000+ years ago which was raised by tectonic forces into the air, so to speak. At this juncture they were made of limestone (no igneous rock involved) which is highly erodible. Rivers, streams, and rain did the rest of the work. Cool.
@FinnSnowVlogs7 жыл бұрын
Steven Lester Very interesting. So your saying the giants didn't form them? :p

I Know who formed them. Once upon a time....lolsss. Seriously, It was Yoda and his kin! Yoda was once a huge being with a hobby of doing things in nature just before his next generations got shrunk! ouch. If you kinda wonder where his kin are right now..well, you have to keep quite to see them (the TARSIERS) coz they don't wanna and easily get stressed. There you have it. PEACE!!!

As expected another epic video with lots of awesome shots. Bohol is also famous for old churces that goes back to the spanish time. Drink lots of calamansi juice from the can. If drinking fresh calamansi juice, make sure the water used to make it is purified. Also another thing drink Berocca Vitamin C, you should be able to find them in Mercury Drug Stores. One tablet you dissolve in glass of water in the morning should help keep the doctor away.

Hey finn.. Been to Bohol and Tarsier sanctuary. did you know that tarsiers are suicidal creatures? They commit suicide if they are distracted and that's why their numbers are going down because they die easily but breed slowly.. Do you know why Filipinos (mostly kids) shout "Hey Joe" to westerners like you? that's because it was a famous line from a local comic movie where pinoys call the attention of the foreigners. Filipinos are known for our mythical theories. If you delved deeper on our history, most of our ancestors tell stories of nature just like that of chocolate hills where tears could probably made them up from a giant's grief. and for sure, there are plenty of those stories especially in local and rural areas.. -your subbie here before you had 1k!! liked your vlogs. keep them comin!

They're called the Chocolate Hills because during wet season the hills are lush & green & during dry season, the hills turn to brown and they somehow look like Hershey's Kisses chocolate, haha! Hey Finn, if you're still in Bohol, I suggest you go to Danao & capture the awesome "sea of clouds". You can also head to Candijay town & check out the beautiful Cadapdapan Rice Terraces & Can-Umantad Falls which is the highest waterfall in Bohol. You are going to capture some epic drone shots there!:-)

There's always a next time anyway, haha! I hope you're feeling better now though! Btw, the ruined centuries-old church & belfry that you were wondering about were results of a major earthquake that happened in Bohol in October 2013. The Boholanos & the National Historical Commision of the Philippines (NHCP) are actually in the process of restoring the historic churces of Bohol damaged by the earthquake.

They're karst formations. They're formed ABOVE water, due to groundwater seeping through and dissolving limestone. Also I find it hilarious how Boholanos have changed the myth of the giant to "tears". The original local legend was that they are giant poop. XD But I guess that doesn't paint a romantic image for tourism. LOL
