Nice job Steve.. It's amazing how you can carry all the necessary parts to save the day...!! You would think those circ valves would have a thremal shut-off like some motors have so they don't turn red hot and possibly cause a flippin fire..!

Looks very neat. Nice that way. Good job.

The first boiler i put in 35 years ago New Yorker CI for my brother, i ended up recently buying the multi family off him. Original 007’s still running. They sure don’t make caps like they used to. Find more cooked motors these days

Regarding strange noises. I got a call to a natural gas fired combination boiler bumping and banging and no heat to radiators. Thermostat tripped, cooled down and repeated. The pump was working but not circulating through the pipes and radiators. The tenant of the property had moved in a week previously and heating was fine. Boyfriend came home on leave from sea and problem started a couple of days later. After some figuring out she said he'd been worried about cost of running the heating and turned the radiator in the living room off. She didn't know it but the idiot had turned every radiator off and there wasn't a bypass on the circuit so nowhere for the pump to send circulating water and it boiled in the tube heat exchanger. After I explained what caused the problem and turned the radiators back on but set the thermostat lower everything worked fine. I lsent my bill which included call out and travelling time to the landlord so my problem over. I bet the boyfriend got a serious talking to when he came in later.🤣

The daughter was just being protective. Older people, especially women are often victims of unscrupulous trades and sales people You rarely find an honest “Steve” in many businesses now. Continue giving honest service to your customers, Steve.

Factory states the j box is to be on top. Proper lubrication. Most installs are wrong.
@tccoggs8 ай бұрын
Incorrect. 6 o'clock is the only position of the junction box that's not permitted in the install instructions. Left, right and top are all approved installs. The pump shaft itself must be horizontal with an exception that allows top motor position if the system pressure is over 20psi.

The only other thing i would have done is to bleed the line with that drain valve and go upsthere to purge the air out of the cast iron rad, this way you know that the loop will run full flow.

Isolation valves and you didn't put the whole pump in. Every time you take something apart you risk a leak! Being lazy!
